First time to Disney World

I would like to know if there is any special package in Oct 2012 which includes Flight, Hotel, Theme park tickets and meal plan. I heard October is a slow season and Disney usually gives out specials during that time. I am coming from Toronto Canada.

I do not think Oct is a slow time at WDW! Between Halloween and Food & Wine at Epcot, it is popular.

Slow times would be January thru mid February, maybe.

I'd highly recommend contacting a Disney travel agent (there are ones that sponsor this message board), but not a general travel agent. They know a lot about current deals and can really help you out and probably end up saving you quite a bit of money.

I agree that October is not a slow time in Disney the F&W festival has really become popular and I feel like October is more crowded every year.

The specials for October aren't really out yet for the general public here in the states, have you checked the Disney website? I know that the deals offered in Canada are often different than the ones offered here in the states.

Compared to March and spring break, October is a bit calmer. November the traffic was more like March to us. There is free dining being offered. We have always booked our own vacations directly through the Disney site. The site is very easy to use and you can choose your own options such as one park a day or park hopper passes. There are also seperate tickets to purchase if you want to go to the MNSSHP.

If you call the Disney number they are very helpful if you have any questions. On the Disney site they also show any specials they are running. The week we went last October was Columbus Day week and we weren't able to get free dining at all. We went to a travel agent only once. I had done my research and the prices they were quoting me were higher than what I found by myself.

Also I would book your air independently. We had a lot of trouble when DCL booked our airfare for our first cruise. Sign up with the different sites like SW or a site like Kayak that will show you comparative air fares.
