Hi all.

I have an upcoming trip and we are staying at the Boardwalk Villas for the first time. It's actually the first time we've stayed at one of the epcot resorts. So I'm very excited to check out the boardwalk itself as we've only visited the boardwalk once before.

Any tips or hints or fun things or foods to try close by Boardwalk?? Any info at all would be helpful!

We love the Boardwalk area (we sometimes stay at Beach Club). We like to walk the Boardwalk at night. There are a few entertainers (jugglers, mimes) and DD's like to get caricature drawings / hair wraps. You can walk to Fantasia mini golf course. We like to get ice cream at Beaches and Cream (to go window or get an ADR if you want to sit down) and viewing Illumination fireworks from bridge. The Screen Door is one of our favourite Disney stores. We also enjoy getting a breakfast treat or dessert from the Boardwalk Bakery. ESPN is fun if you are a sports fan (tons of tv's, wings, nachos). Atmosphere is low key, but great family fun. Have fun!
ETA - if you are all adults, 'Jellyrolls' is so much fun at night. They have dueling piano players.

I LOVED Boardwalk!! Such a relaxing resort. We preferred the quiet pool. Beaches n Cream is great for burgers & ice cream, across the way at Beach Club! Enjoy.

I agree with PP that you must visit the Boardwalk in the evening. I also love an early morning walk around Crescent Lake. I tend to rise before the rest of my family and find this to be a beautiful and serene start to my day. The sunrises are beautiful.

We have stayed at ALOT of Disney resorts, and this is hands down my favorite. You can see the Epcot ball lit up at night, can see the fireworks from illuminations. The entertainment is great! The little food spots are cute and quaint. And as huge water and boating people, it feels like we are coming home to the marina at the end of the day. Plus, You can walk to Epcot, no buses, no wait to get in! Was fabulous!

We loved the Boardwalk (still not our fave) and I actually think it is the best location on site. Walk to both Epcot and Studios. We took a bus to MK twice and both times we came back on the monorail and mosied our way back to the international exit and on to the Boardwalk. AK is a short bus ride as is DS, and the water parks. Seems like the epcot area resorts are quite a bit more laid back than the MK resorts.

One of the things we were most excited to try on our first stay was the surrey bikes. Here's a tip--make sure you're in good shape because the Boardwalk is hillier than it looks and our kids ended up being dead weight! :joker: I admit I was not in the best of shape but I refused to get out and push--I have my pride! It's a great resort and our favorite DVC. Enjoy!!!

Thanks! I will definitely try the Surrey bikes. My kids will love that. The ice cream window sounds awesome too! We have mini golfed at winter summerland before but have yet to try out fantasia gardens. It's good to know we can walk there. Do they have two course choices like the other mini golf did? Which one is better?

Be sure to check out the entertainment in the evening, Coney Island Chris is our favorite but they're all good. The Belle Vue Lounge has a 2nd floor porch, Allen makes a great spicy Bloody Mary, interesting people watching spot. The ESPN has great Pub Grub and more TVs with sports than I can count, even over the urinals in the men's room, don't know what's up for the ladies. We enjoy the surry during the day, our whole family piled into a large bike one evening and the crowds made it too difficult to navigate on the actual boards. Big River is a great micro brewery if that appeals to you. One of my favorite things to do is to have a coffee and cigar on the bench near Atlantic Dance as the sun rises, great way to start the day. You can see the aerials of Illuminations from the area by Big River and the bridge by Swan and Dolphin, of course it's nothing to stroll to WS to see the whole thing then walk back. There's a park entrance to WS and FW called the International Gateway, no need to go to the main Epcot entrance.

We took a lot of time last trip just to enjoy the BW area and the whole EPCOT resort area. We had a slight BWview with the main view over a courtyard. It was fantastic. There are great places to sit outside and enjoy the view, people watching, the entertainers and grab a bite to eat.

We walked everywhere and found the path to DHS to be enjoyable, very lovely at night.

We ate at Cape May, Boardwalk Bakery, Hurricane Hannah's, the bar at BW's clown pool (can't remember the name). Had drinks at several of the lounges, just trying out new things.

Most people think that Big River Grille is not that great, but they have VERY tasty burgers and terrific Red Rocket Ale. Kids meals are really great too. But only if you sit out on the Boardwalk. It's actually our first night tradition, no matter where we stay. We like to rotate between BWV, FW Cabins and OKW.

If you have little ones, you can go to the Community Hall next to the quiet pool, which is really great for activities, crafts, board games to check out, free video games, etc. It's really great.
