First Time pins--funny comment from this weekend

We were standing in line on Saturday to see Tigger and Pooh and struck up a conversation with the folks in front of us. They were from Indiana and were first timers and this was their first day. We gave them some tips and my husband remembered that he had some first timer buttons in his pack from when we took some kids with us previously (they decided they were "too cool" for the pins). We gave each child a pin to welcome them to the world.

All of a sudden the lady behind us said "excuse me, are you selling pins?" I said "no, they're free". So she asked if she could have one. I said "I'm sorry, we don't have any more, but you can get them at city hall." She looked at me exasperated and said "Well, if you didn't have enough for everybody, you shouldn't give them out!" I just laughed. The entire rest of the line time she kept making comments about how "unfair" it was. I suppose it could've turned out badly, but all I could do was laugh, which just made her more angry.

So just keep in mind....if you're going to try to be nice, you should carry around enough freebies for EVERYBODY!

I thought about that, but I honestly looked nothing like a CM. I was wearing all black (on a hot sunny day no less lol) and my husband looked like a pack mule carrying our pack, and we had our two kids in tow. lmao This will teach me to be a line talker.

Eh, no it won't. I'll still yap in line.

People are obsessed with pins in general aren't they?? I have to say it is easy to get sucked in b/c they really are so fabulous

If they weren't first timers, and know what pins are, then they don't deserve your generosity and nice welcome to the world - they can walk themselves back down Main St. and get some!

I was at Hollywood Studios (than MGM) waiting for a friend of mine, and someone asked me where the bathroom was. I was dressed in Black Jeans at the time, and a Polo type shirt. Also had my GOH badge with Pooh on it, and not only got asked where the bathroom was, but also where rides where, and what time things started, etc.( I actually answered each question correctly and gave them a map!) It dawned on me, I wore the Wrong outfit, as some of the CMs had on the SAME thing I was wearing! I still get asked things due to my GOH badge, everyone thinks I "work for Disney" because I am wearing the GOH badge. I have to explain that I PAID for it, and that the REAL CM Badges are White!
