First time on Wonder- what deck?

Was just on the Magic (which is Wonder's twin) on Deck 1, and our portholes were pretty high above the water, I'd say at least 8 feet. They also have really heavy-duty metal shutters that can be closed by DCL staff, I assume should there be issues with water coming up that high, but it seems really unlikely. I was on a Royal Caribbean ship, deck 2 (which is their lowest deck, equivalent to Deck 1 on DCL) and the waves were so bad I felt sure I was going to be thrown from my bed (seriously) but even in those crazy seas water was not coming up above our porthole.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Yikes, that choppy? I would have freaked out.

Just got off the wonder and we were on deck 2, towards the back/middle. While it’s hella far from everything except the restaurants. We loved it! Never felt the ship rock. There are some louder rooms we guessed based on the noise in the hallway but the rooms near 2605 (an inside room) were away from loud things in the halls. I only heard the kitchen very very late at night. I was already up reading so it didn’t bother me. It never woke anyone up. We may make deck 2 our inexpensive choice if we don’t do a veranda next.

We prefer deck 6 but we are two adults. It's close to everything and easy to do a couple of flights of stairs if the elevators are busy. Cheaper than 7 and more than 2. For a family I would go with two rooms on deck 2. It really is fine, we've done it a few times.

I was on Deck 2 and loved it on my 2014 trip. The oversized windows was like a climate controlled balcony.

My favourite spot on the Wonder is deck 7 aft. It’s a quiet area, with only staterooms above and below, and it’s only a quick hop up to the drink station on deck 9.

Agreed our favorite as well. Plus you can easily take the stairs down a few levels to the restaurants and theater. We rarely used the elevator when staying on deck 7.

Another vote for deck 7 aft, and prefer starboard since the laundry room is close. It came in handy when we were on the Magic in Europe.

On the wonder/magic i've been on deck 8 in concierge rooms (the walt disney suite to be exact) and on deck 2 in an oceanview stateroom right by the aft elevators.
You may be surprised to know i liked them both.

the deck 2 stateroom was in july, when we sailed together with several families (my kids and grandkids).
I thought the deck 2 location was fabulous and the big window looking out was very nice.

On the other hand, my husband and i are booked on the wonder next year and i think we're on deck 7 for that one - in a regular verandah room. Probably midship, but i don't recall.

In any case, i wouldn't hesitate to stay in the deck 2 staterooms again the next time it's a big family cruise (probably summer 2021).

We had 4 rooms on deck 2 on the Wonder, a year ago and loved it. We were 2502, 2504, 2506, 2508. Very close to the front, very quiet with minimal foot traffic. There was a crew entrance at the end but they were quiet and it had no impact on our stay.

2502 and 2504 are slightly larger rooms compared to 2506 and 2508, because of the narrowing of the ship at the front. Our room 2502 had an extra storage cabinet across from the bed. We also had enough room for a pack and play at the end of the couch before the window. The window had a "perch" in front of it, large enough for the 2 adults and 2 small kids to sit on and look out the window. Room 2504 had a slightly different distribution of space, and they had the extra space between the bed and the couch, enough room for a chair that was positioned there. They also had the extra storage cabinet. Rooms 2506 and 2508 didn't have the added space or cabinet. I expect the rooms on the opposite side of the ship to be the same. If you can snag one of those 4 rooms then I think it makes deck 2 even more desirable! I would highly recommend them!

Even without those added perks, deck 2 was great in general and all of the adults and kids enjoyed being on deck 2 with no issues being closer to the waterline (my previous sailings I was always deck 7-9).
