This is our first family cruise on Disney. We usually do NCL. Our son is 2 however and like the fact that they take kids at that age. Any tips or tricks people can recommend??

You'll have a great time, the Wonder is a beautiful ship.

You may want to consider booking some time in the nursery for your son. He'll have fun with the CMs and you can enjoy a meal at Palo, a spa treatment or other adult activities.

Remember that if you plan of some adult time without your son, a 2 year old cannot go to the Oceaneer club/lab. He will have to go to the Flounder's Reef Nursery which requires a reservation and is not free. Or should I say, it requires an additional charge of $9 an hour.

There is a LOT to do onboard, and just like DisneyWorld, no way you can begin to do it all the first time. Pick and choose, enjoy, and remember what you have to look forward to for the next cruise!

My unconventional tip: there are many ways Disney wants to separate you from your money. Pick a cruise splurge if you must (photos, massage, expensive excursion, better stateroom) and avoid the rest. You can have a fantastic cruise (we certainly do) without spending much money at all (over your cruise fare).

My conventional tip: interact with the staff and crew ("cast members") as much as you possibly can. Every one will be happy to talk to you, and they all have a great story. Servers, stateroom hosts, painters, entertainers, officers, bartenders, etc. It will enrich your experience.

Here's a tip - read this board. Basically the answer to this question and most others have been answered numerous times.

We found out too late - after we left the ship - that you can book a placeholder to get 10% discount and $200 ship board credit without having to decided on an actual cruise for up to 18 mons.
