Ok, so I decided to try DDP for the first time this trip since I will be taking my two daughters by myself (One is 6 and the other turns 3 on the trip). It just seemed like an easier solution for me.

I just have some questions...on Table Service. Is there a dollar limit on my entrees or desserts. For example, I'm taking them to Rainforest Cafe-can I order the Volcano? Also, at Table Service can I order a smoothie as my drink?:confused3

I so appreciate all of the help that everyone has offered throughout my many trips..the advice has been priceless!

The amount of the item doesn't matter. On a dining credit the salad entree is the same as the steak. The drink is usually considered a soda but I know at Whispering Canyon you could get a bottomless shake as a substitute. The only way you will know about the smoothie for sure is to ask the cast member because the answer can even change from one cast member to another. Sorry I know that still leaves it unanswered. Enjoy your trip I know it was easier for us when we were on the dining plan.

I just have some questions...on Table Service. Is there a dollar limit on my entrees or desserts. For example, I'm taking them to Rainforest Cafe-can I order the Volcano? There are no dollar limits, but if there's an item that says "for 2" you would not be able to order it because it would require 2 adult credits. I think the Volcano is meant for more than one person - is it considerably more expensive than the other desserts? At the Grand Floridian Cafe I know the dessert sampler requires 2 adult credits. Also, at Beaches and Cream the Kitchen Sink dessert is excluded.

Also, at Table Service can I order a smoothie as my drink? Maybe. It will depend on the restaurant. The dining plan officially allows a non-alcoholic fountain drink such as soda, non-specialty coffee, tea, and lemonade which are usually priced around $3. Specialty drinks are not included, but some of the Disney operated restaurants will let you have milk shakes, smoothies (no refills usually) and virgin cocktails. You will have to ask at each place.

My answers are in red.

Some places do allow a smoothie for your drink, but no refills..Rainforest was one of those places. Just ate there last week, and when she rattled off the list ofdiningplan drinks she mentioned that sodas, tea and regular coffee were unlimited refills, and then specifically pointed out some jungle-juice smoothie and said I could have than as my dining plan drink, but no refills.

Other places (mostly non-Disney owned places like Via Napoli, Les Chefs, Yak & Yeti, etc. will tell you coca-cola soda fountain drinks only (or tea or regular coffee) but no specialty sodas or other beverages.

Yak & Yeti allowed their special non-alcoholic drinks on the dining plan when I was there last week. I also got a frozen cappuccino at Mama Melrose's and a smoothie at Narcoossee's. Not all places have smoothies and such, but I didn't run into a single problem during my week-long stay. If you're not sure, just ask! They do not allow any beverages that come in collectible cups or have the glow cubes, etc. Other than that, you can usually order anything...though a milkshake sometimes will only count for your dessert and not a beverage.

I could be wrong but I didn't think Rainforest Cafe was part of Disney so you couldn't use the dining plan there. :confused3 But it has been known to happen that I am wrong :rotfl:

Rainforest and T-Rex were added to the DP for 2012. Along with about another 10 or so restaurants.

Thanks for letting me know. My family doesn't do the sit down but I knew at one point you couldn't use it there. At least I know now and won't be giving out the wrong info.

Someone posted that the Volcano dessert at RFC could be ordered by pooling either three or four adult desserts - children's desserts weren't eligible.
