First time in the world oct. 2014

no not extended van 2 vans......we have decided to drive....lol And we have a mini van.
and I love that it is less than a year now.......get more excited every day!!

AMAZING finds!!! LOVE LOVE it!
No doubt you decided to drive you have a TON of stuff to take with you.. Not to mention what you will be buying there!!! WOW!!! :thumbsup2

well we decided to drive because if we can swing it we are going to do the dark side (unerversal)DH's idea, on the way to Disney. Also because the airlines wants to charge 35 dollars a bag, including carry on. And they have all those silly rules can't take this or that, only 3 oz of liquid. I would rather drive, take my time and take what I want with out having to get through security .......pain in the tukkas crap. Also we can take our cooler. And snacks and stuff ......just easer all around.

I'll be curious to hear how you all like Universal.
I didn't realize you were both taking vans. My goodness why worry about how much you bring? ;). Oh yeah, need to save room for the return with all the souvenirs!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Did you SEE the picks of our van when we returned from Ohio in August........!
We will look like we are moving in to disney!!! hahahaha

I watched the live feed of Fantasmic last night on facebook and actually thought, "By this time next year we will already be back from our disney trip..." Man, I am in TROUBLE!!!!!

I watched the last night too.......loved it. I want those ears.......really really I do! Bringing my own van you still want me to bring the lamp I can you know. :cool1 Getting stuff ready for a craft show this weekend hope I sell a lot of harnesses.......I wanna put some money on our trip.

Well, I figure I will finally post what has been keeping me away from the DIS for the last month (since I finally put my pics on the computer and photobucket :rotfl2:)

I have many hobbies, one of which I started doing quite a bit last year.....this year has been a little slow with it, until recently. I have had a cake project every weekend except one since the end of September.....man, it has been very time consuming, but a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

First was my niece's tenth birthday, she wanted chevron, but did not want fondant... (Do you know how hard it is to do that?!) Well, she ended up with a little fondant ;)

The next weekend we went to another birthday party, but I did not make the cake. It was nice to just relax for a bit and let the kids play....they had a blast! (sorry, I can't find those pics.....:confused3)

Moving on....

Next up was one of my very good friend's daughter's first birthday. Toni was planning on cooking a big southern meal on Sunday, but Saturday we went to a family fun day event at her husband's work. It was awesome, everything was free and we had so much fun!!!!

Our second children.....they are a mess!

So Sunday came around and it was cake time again. This is not very traditional for a little girl, but her name is Autumn so it fit!

This weekend's cake comes with a story!!

My dear sweet  youngest child decided to help me out this week. I had found an awesome dump truck cake online that I just had to try. It looked so cool and came with an online tutorial which was even better! So I watched the video, figured I could do it, came home early on Tuesday to work on it. Several pieces of fondant needed to sit out and dry for a few days so they would be stiff enough for the sides of the truck and the (basket) part of the dump truck. I spent about three hours measuring, rolling, cutting....all the while Evil, ahem, I mean Evie was "helping" me...aka eating every bit she could get ahold of. (my kids love fondant, I mean, most people peel it off and throw it away.....:confused3) So I finished up and put the cookie sheet of fondant pieces on some cake boxes on the back of the counter. At this point I had told her not to mess with any of it, oh, about 20 times.... Well, guess what happened.....really, I'm not good with suspense, it doesn't take a rocket scientist!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I came home from a horrible day at work on Wednesday to find all of that work destroyed! (by the mouth of a three year old.....) Well, after I locked myself in my room for about a half an hour:sad2: I got over it......I guess it is just a cake after all.

Oh yeah, by the way, out of aaaallllllllllllllll of these cakes that I have been working on, this is the ONLY one that I am being paid for!!!!!!! Okay, sorta over it.........

So, here is the consolation cake...I had to come up with something last minute as the party is today, but I think it will do. As soon as I finish up here I am going to go find some little construction vehicles to put on it......wish me luck!

Next weekend is my sister in law's birthday. She wants a pumpkin cake. I made one a few years ago for a friend and it was pretty easy so it should look something like this

So, there it is. My excuse. Now I have to go shopping and on to yet another birthday party! Hope you enjoy the pics!:goodvibes

The cakes beautiful ! and I had tears in my eyes with laughter AND frustration for you with what little " evil/Evie" did It brought back a not so funny at the time...hysterical in the passing of years memory

When DD # 1 was in 1st grade I made cupcakes for the class for her birthday woke up to DD # 2 sitting in a pile of wrappers, crumbs, and vanilla frosting under the kitchen table with the dog as they had their own little party :scared1: A mad dash quick baths and a stop at the grocery store for replacements 33 years later & I remember it clear as yesterday :lmao:

LOVE the pumpkin cake most of all but much talent in you :thumbsup2 I think the little boys cake is a nice save & little construction vehicles should be easy to find !

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:hahaha, yeah I am sure that I will remember this.....and so will she, I will make sure of it!!!! The construction cake came out pretty well especially since I only had about 5 hours on Saturday to get it done, and the birthday boy really enjoyed the plastic tractors that we put on it :goodvibes

thank you, I really enjoy making them. It's a nice creative outlet for me......now I just have to win the lottery so I can open a bakery!!!!

I do get paid for some of them, I just make them a lot as my present to the birthday boy or girl. I mostly make them for family and my close friends....don't have time to do the whole deal so this works! :)

How come you didn't make a cake while you were here, I would love to see you in action.:confused3 Oh I know you didn't have all your stuff here....so next time we visit I expect a cake, of some sort!

yeah, it's a pain to do it away from home.......but whenever you come to visit I promise to make an awesome cake for you!!! (maybe tinkerbell !?!)
:thumbsup2

Beautiful cakes! The pumpkin one reminds me if one my MIL made for a Halloween party dh & I had at her house when we were dating. She was by no means a pro, and I don't mean to compare it talent wise by any means. She made an angel food cake frosted it with orang frosting. Put a banana in the center & frosted that green for the stem. To a bunch of 17-19 year olds it was amazing.
I love specialty cakes! I'm in awe of cake decorators
