first time disney transportation- lots of ?'s!!!

My fiance and I always rent a car when we visit Disney. Unfortunately this year we are unable to afford to and didn't realize until the very last minute (we leave in ten days!). Our time is being split, our first two nights at All Star Sports, followed by 4 nights at WL and 4 nights at AKL.

I know from the WL I can take a boat to get to the Magic Kingdom. How would I get to EPCOT/Animal Kingdom/MGM/Downtown Disney/other resorts. We have dinner reservations at the Polynesian, Downtown Disney, as well as the Grand Floridian.

How would I get to all of these places also from AKL and from ASSp.

We were also planning on spending the first two days of the trip at Universal. Does anyone know how much a cab is to one of these places. Also we would be needing a cab I'm guessing to move our bags from hotel to hotel. Does anyone have any approximate rates? Any information and suggestions would be oh so helpful!!!!!!!

For the parks and DD, you take a bus. For the resorts you mentioned, take the boat to MK, hop the monorail to the GF and te POLY.

I have no idea how much a cab is. You might check and see if Disney will move your bags for you.

From ASSp to:
All parks and DTD -- bus (direct from the resort to the destination)
Other resorts -- bus to whatever park that makes geographical sense, then bus/monorail/boat to the desired resort

From WL to:
Epcot, MGM, AK and DTD -- bus
Polynesian and Grand Floridian -- boat to Contemporary (or Magic Kingdom), then monorail; OR boat to Magic Kingdom, then boat to Polynesian or boat to Grand Floridian
Other resorts -- bus/boat to whatever park that makes geographical sense, then bus/boat to the desired resort

From AKL to:
All parks and DTD -- bus (direct from the resort to the destination)
Other resorts -- bus to whatever park that makes geographical sense, then bus/monorail/boat to the desired resort

One more thing -- if you are switching resorts mid-stay, bell services can have it transported to the next resort for you -- that way you can go and enjoy the parks without worrying about lugging your stuff.

For your return home after dinner, note that if returning very late, after the parks have closed, you will need to go to Downtown to change buses. Buses stop running to & from the parks one hour after closing.
