First time disney goer

For sure read www.easywdw.com

DO plan on waking early and rope dropping. Will you have Park Hoppers?

Use easywdw to pick the parks each day. Rope Drop MK and have a nice sit down lunch and simply stay the entire day. For EP and DHS arrive with FP+ for the parks that day. AK does not require FP+ as much. If you parkhop to AK you can use the FP+ in the first park.

Oh that's awesome! I hope you have SO much fun! I actually checked we have the regular dining plan not the quick service. But thank you! What are you looking to do while you are there?

I am looking forward to everything! We are coming over from New Zealand and WDW is the last stop on a four week trip. We will most likely not be back for along time, if ever, so trying to fit in as much as possible. We are two 29 year olds with no kids, celebrating our 30ths a month early. Before WDW we have 9 days in Cozumel Mexico for the triathlon world champs. Then go to Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Then Orlando offsite for 3 days to do universal and space centre. On Disney arrival day we got to Disney springs and cirque. Day 2 is MK with dinner at cinderellas castle. Day 3 is Epcot. Day 4 is a non Disney day at Florida mall. Day 5 is HS with club villain! Day 6 is AK with Wild Africa trek first thing in the morning. Day 7 is a spare day, We have park hoppers and can go where we need to. Day 8 is husbands pick for during the day (he won't tell me what he's decided yet) followed by MNSSHP. Day 9 is MK again. We leave the day after back to NZ. I'm excited about everything. I'm worried we won't fit it all in. I've found it so hard trying to pick where to eat and hoping we don't miss out on anything amazing, because we can't really just go again later if we miss out. I want to do as much as possible but not be to stressed out about schedules.

From what I've read, you've done a great job with setting up your FastPasses (FP+). You've got a good mix of rides on there, and ones that often need FP+, so you've done well. Remember that once you use up your 3 FP+ for the day, you can jump back on the MyDisneyExperience (MDE) app and get another one. Use it to your advantage.

I can't comment on the dining plan, as we always stay off property. But also know that Disney allows you to bring food and drink into the park, which most other places don't. So if you want to bring snacks, water bottles, etc...in, you can. Heck, we bring dinner for 5 in.

The only other advice I'll give you is to take your time and enjoy what you're doing. Don't get overwhelmed and don't try to rush around like crazy, for a few reasons. First, if you've never been, you really can't fully appreciate how large Disney is and how much walking you will be doing. My wife and I are extremely fit, and even we can get tired after a full day in the parks. It's a huge place. So don't wear yourselves out. Second, with only 5 days for all 4 parks, you're not going to see everything. You're just not. And that's perfectly OK. Look at the online maps before you go and find things you're interested in. If you have questions about certain rides or attractions, ask about them here. When you get to the parks, if you have questions, any cast member will be happy to help you. Yes, having a plan is very important to help maximize your time there, so I'm not at all saying not to have a plan. But it sounds like you've already got the framework mapped out. Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about some of the "advanced level" planning you may see here in this forum. For your first visit, have a basic plan, go in with the understand you won't see everything, and be sure to just enjoy the things you do get to see.

Have an awesome trip!!

Good morning. I travel down to WDW with my wife every year and yes, we also stay at the ASMu. Love the staff there. Here is a suggestion from someone in their 60's who has been there many times. One, Walt Disney World is HUGE. We find something new every time we go down there. We have been on all of the rides many times so for us, not getting on a ride isn't that important. What you have to try to do is not over plan. Remember, it takes a while to walk from one attraction to another. Fast Pass does not mean you walk up, immediately get on and you are off in minutes. There may be a short wait on some of the Major attraction rides. I have read many times on this site "will we have time to ride seven dwarfs at 1 and then eat at Chef Mickey's at 1:45." The answer is probably no. Since this is your first time, don't forget to really look at the parks. The architecture is wonderful. There are shows in the streets like the barbershop quartet, and don't forget the parades, that can take up alot of your time. Take time to enjoy the parks. We used to travel with our children and then our grandchildren and we have found that since we began traveling alone that we could really enjoy the parks. You are young so I am guessing you will probably return sometime in the future. As for dining and the dining plan, we always get the plan that you currently have. Don't waste you quick service on breakfast, use it for the more expensive lunch. As for getting dining reservations, it all depends on what and where you wish to eat. As for winging it, you may find it rather difficult to eat at many of the sit down locations, especially if you want to dine with charecters as they are usually booked. Of course, being just the two of you, you may find it easier to find a table than if you were a group of four and more. If you want sit down dining or character dining, you will probably have to get a reservation and soon. You are not that far off from your trip. I would suggest calling the disney number and talk directly to a dining reservation person. It is much faster than doing it on line. If you find you are having trouble getting a place to dine, in the morning go to the concierge desk at ASMu and ask if they can help you get a reservation. I have used them many times when we suddenly decided to change our plans for the day. Don't worry about the prices for the dinner meal at many of the sit down restaurants, with the dining plan-it's fully covered. Have fun.
