First time Disney cruise with a 4 year old? yay or nay?

Our first cruise was a 7-night with the kids at 3 & 5. It was perfect! The kids will get their dinner before the adults. One of us always took DS to the club when he finished and then returned to enjoy our entrée. DD3 stayed with us and didn't have a problem with being there 2 hours. There was so much to look at, visited with the other child at our table [we linked reservations with a DISer on the meet board with kids the same ages as ours], coloring, and the servers entertaining the kids helped.

We are embarking on on our kiddo's second birthday in a week for his first cruise, and our second on the Dream. My husband booked it as a surprise and I almost hyperventilated. I was so stressed about cruising with a child (plus, I'm a bit uptight), but kids seem to love it. Now I am super excited and I think he will be too! Worst case scenario (outside of an emergency)- you sit in your room, order room service, and watch movies. Thus....verandahs!

If your kid loves "smouse" as much as mine, he will just be so excited he's near Mr. "Smouse".

My DS was 4 on his first cruise which was 14 night transatlantic. I was worried he wouldn't go to the club since he has anxiety and can be very nervous. Well by the third night of late dining he was so excited watching for the counselors to come into dining room to get kids going to club he could barely eat and would rush of with them and not look back!
We also watched a lot of youtube videos of clubs, pool ect. ahead of time.

I took my almost 3-year-old wild man on the cruise. I almost canceled because he was in a just-impossible phase. We all had a great time.
