First time DAS question

We are hours away from Disney and our first time attempting to use the DAS service for our son. I thought it was possible to make this request at guest services outside the park but then I read in a thread that all members of the party must have scanned in to the park.
I was hoping to visit guest services outside the park tonight and get it set up but idk if that is actually possible?
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Availability outside the park varies, sometimes you can do it and sometimes you cant. No way to know until you get there. Anyone you want to add to the DAS will have to go to guest services too, but not neccessarily inside the park. I think it all depends on staffing levels and how busy they are if they will allow it outside or not.

You can try an outside-the-park Guest Relations. If they have the right equipment working, they should be able to issue a DAS. It seems to depend on the equipment (namely an iPad). You will need everyone there, or sometimes they’ll let you do it if you have everyone’s MagicBands.
