Hello All! I'm traveling with a group of 24 this May on a Disney Land/Sea cruise. After reading all the hints about cruising, I need some clear advice about what we will need onboard, since the advice given seems to be for families with small kids, rather than older teens. Any helpful advice? Think there will be room for two adults and 16 and 18 year old boys (that dont' want to share a bed!) in a deluxe outside verandah room?
thanks for any advice ! We're pretty excited and want to be well informed before traveling from Canada!
ciao! Deb

but we are going in two weeks. We also have two teen boys that would rather sleep with the dogs than share a bed. From what I can gather, it seems the pull down murphy bed is made for smaller people. I read somewhere that it will not accomodate adults or larger teens. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on who you talk to, our youngest teen (14) is small for his age. We told him that if he agrees to take the murphy on the ship, he can have his choice of beds while we are on land. That sounded fair to him! So I guess, according to this info, it would depend on whether or not one or more of your boys is smaller. I've also heard that the teens tend to make friends with others and stay out most of the night! So it may not be an issue at all!! HA HA

Can't wait to get where it's warm!

Thanks! Just hearing that others are also first timers and just as excited as us, is great!! I have heard that the 'Passporter' books are a real help for the cruise (they also have them for DWD).
Our boys are big: eldest is 6 foot and youngest is 5'10" so I am hoping it will be comfortable.....but, if as you say we will hardly see them, I guess it doesn't matter!!
My youngest is home studying for exams and after reading your note, he is realllllllly looking forward to the trip! Thanks!::MickeyMo

I'm assuming that you have either a Cat 5 or 6, when you said "a deluxe outside verand stateroom". These rooms have a queen bed (that can be converted into two twins) a sofa, that coverts into a single bed and a berth bed that pulls down out of the ceiling over the sofa. The 'berth' bed is single width, but I believe has a weight limit of 200 lbs. If your 16 year old does not weight over 200 lbs. you should be in great shape!
Have a wonderful cruise!

We are first timers too. We are a group of 25 Land/Sea package also. We are going in May also. When are you going? We leave April 29th we booked a few exrta days before the package. We check in to the Beach Club on May 2nd. We have the verandah room on deck 6 cat. 6. We are very excited too. I can't help on older kids. All kids are under 10. But the people on this Board are the greatest people around. If they can't answer you no one can. Good luck and have fun Brenda
