First Time Cruiser - Help, Please

The only cruise I have ever been on was over twenty years ago and my daughter has never been on one. What is the best location on the ship to book a room, i.e. - deck levels and front, middle or back of ship for a smooth ride? I appreciate any advice you can give. We are contemplating a 3 or 4 night because my daughter is afraid she won't like the cruise, followed by 3 or 4 days in the parks. Thank you.

Actually, any room onboard will be fine. Modern cruise ships are very stable. Unless you run into a massive storm, one room or another, one deck or another, it's all fairly equitable.

We prefer deck 2 on the Magic class ships. On the Dream class, we've been on decks 8, 9 & 10. All good locations. I'd suggest a room more midship, whatever deck you choose.

I like deck 2 with an oceanview room in the middle of the ship.

Thank you. We're looking at the Dream and it appears the site is leaning toward a deck 9 inside stateroom. They don't have any reserved outside cabins, just there "general" which I assume means they pick the room and you won't know until you arrive. I'll downgrade to an inside room so that I can know where we will be ahead of time.
