First Time Cruiser – DCL Ground Transport arriving international flight

Hi, DH and I will be on Magic the 23rd; we are arriving to Miami the same day at 7:50am. We have DCL Ground Transport to the port. Since we are arriving from an international flight, do we need to put the luggage tags in advanced as I had been told?
I had bad experience with the luggage handling at the Miami Airport (Two broken bags in two different trips). I’m afraid they will tear out the tag. Also I imagine they can’t pick up our luggage because we have to pass customs.
Also, we will need to take out the wine from the checked luggage to the carry on.
Where usually the people of DCL will meet us?
It will be fine if I put the tags after customs?

No don't put them on in advance. You have to collect your own luggage so there is no need. Put the tags on once you've got through customs and are out of the arrivals bit. I'm not sure in Miami where the pick up will be so can't really say on that one I'm afraid.
