We will be taking my FIL and his wife to WDW in a couple of weeks. This will be there first time ever (I don't know how they've lived this long without WDW)! :) I think I remember reading (but the brain is not very reliable) that they now have buttons for first timers. Anyone have info or experiences with these? Where do I get them? Do you have to pay for them? Any good experiences by people wearing them? Any help is appreciated.

I have not personally gotten these, but if I remember correctly, they are free and you can get them at guest services of any park. I've heard that people who wear them often get "extra attention" from cast members, but it's not guaranteed. Have fun and enjoy!

They do...yellow ones that say "My 1st Trip." We got one for someone traveling with us at the front desk when we checked in. I'm sure you could get them from guest services as well.

They had my DW wear one in Oct and said they would be checking security cameras just incase she decided to take it off.

She went to GS to pick up DD a B-Day pin and they said they didn't want her to feel left out.

Get them at Any GS in any of the parks or DTD soemtimes the Resort front desk may have a few sitting around.

If your staying on-site, you can get them at the front desk / consierege. We did this on our last trip. I don't know for sure, but I believe the parks give them out too. A good first souvenir, but don't expect too much special treatment for it, except for the occcasional extra comment from a CM.

We got one for our DS at City Hall on Main St. Later in the week he didn't have it (we had pinned it to his stroller). The CM who give out the dreams gave him another one.

We picked up one for our DS at City Hall in MK. I asked if there were special buttons for people who've visited before. She said "no" but, she gave the rest of us a magical gatherings button with the Incredibles on it. I've seen the Birthday ones, anniversary, just married and grand gatherings buttons on my last visit. Didn't receive any special attention for the buttons, tho.

I'd absolutely love to get one of these for my DDIL for Christmas. Does anyone know how if there's a way to get these pins in advance? We gave DS and DDIL a trip for their wedding, and they're going in April. She's never been to WDW, and although DS has been telling her things about it, she's from a small town in Mexico (none of her friends there have been) and doesn't even know enough about WDW to get too excited. DS can't wait to see her face when she goes!

Oh man! If only they had them last June and/or if only I knew about them! DD would have loved that. We're taking her again next Feb for her birthday so she'll probably get enough attention from that button. Her DB, who hasn't been there before, can then get the 1st timer button and hopefully share the extra attention his DS will be getting with her birthday button!

Sooooo, exactlly what buttons are available at the parks?

1-1st Timers
2 - B-Day
3- Just Married
4- Anniversary???
5 - Grand Gathering???

We have a Grand Gathering coming up celebrating alot of events: B-Day, 1st Timers, 51st Anniversary, Newlyweds..........

Gonna be a blast for us (10 people!!!) :grouphug:

We received our 1st trip buttons upon check in at the CBR.
CM's upon seeing it always asked if we were having a nice
1st Visit. Everyone was very nice. Many noticed and mentioned
it.

My DD got one at Caribbean Beach when my SISTER checked in on Friday - the funny thing is that it is FAR from our first time since we live here! The CM behind the desk kept asking her different questions trying to figure out something that it was her 1st time for at Disney!!!! He couldn't come up with one though - but he still have her the pin. It's hanging on the visor in the car. I figure we will save it for the next time we have a first timer visiting us!!!!

Oh, that sounds cool. I am leaving in 18 days for my first ever trip to Disney World and I am SO excited!! I would love a first timer button as a souvenir!

What a great souvenir for my first trip to Disney! I can hardly wait... Just 6 weeks and 5 days more to go.

:thanks: for the replies. I will ask for the buttons and check in. I don't know if they will wear them or not, but it will be a fun souvenier anyway
