First Time Booking Help!

Hello everyone!

I am looking at booking a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas next February and I have so many questions! The big one is what type of amenities does the Cruise Line offer, such as Wi-Fi? Any secrets to make this a smooth process would be most helpful!

WiFi, like on all cruises, is paid. DCL has been offering 50MB free if you sign up on the first day, but that is highly subject to change.

It's easier to tell you what has upcharges:

• Wifi
• Specialty dining (Remy, Palo)
• Alcoholic drinks
• Specialty non-alcoholic drinks (anything in a can or bottle, smoothies, upscale coffee)
• Specialty ice cream (soft serve on deck is free; good stuff is upcharge)
• Tipping
• Certain room service items (mostly drinks in containers) & room service cash tipping
• Salon services
• Excursions

Most food is free. The only food you will pay for is Adult Dining at Palo and Remy, Popcorn/packaged snacks from room service and outside theater, there is a pub menu I believe for a charge. All other dining rooms, buffet, pool deck fast food, room service is included.

You can eat and drink only the things included in the cruise and still be living a very first-world kinda life.

You just won't get a double-mochachino or any alcohol along the way.

There is even free soft serve on deck.

Most of the room service menu IS included. You just want to avoid ordering the upcharge items (like the Cokes), and have some singles available to tip the deliberator. Most of the ship is actually a cash-free zone, but room service delivery it is considered bueno to slip 'em a buck or more depending on order size.

Anything not included in the Main Dining Rooms is noted on the menus, and sticks with the aforementioned key upcharge items: Fancy coffee, booze, fancy non-alcoholic smoothies.

Tip: The "drinks of the day" usually have special pricing. There is always an adult drink and a non-alcoholic drink of the day.

It's very easy to know what things have a charge. The price of drinks and specialty coffee etc will be marked on the menu. They also need to swipe your key card to charge you so that's another indication.

Fyi, if you find a cruise/stateroom you like but aren't quite ready to commit to a downpayment, you can book it anyway by clicking "3-Day Hold" on the payment screen. That will hold your reservation with current pricing intact, for 3 days, without you having to put any payment info down. If you change your mind, you can just let the hold expire. No need to call & cancel, & no penalty of any kind. I've done this many times since prices can rise at any time & good staterooms can get snapped up, so if there's something I'm interested in, I put a hold on it to lock in the current price & my desired stateroom before deciding if I really want to book.
