First time away from home on Easter Sunday...any ideas?

My family and I will be at the Disneyland resort (staying offsite) Easter weekend. I know DS5 will be disappointed if the Easter bunny doesn't come so I was thinking about hiding eggs and his Easter basket in one of the suitcases and then placing the eggs around the hotel room after he goes to bed. Anyone done this before and have some creative ideas?

I haven't done what you're planning, but I surprise my kids with Easter treats on our trips all the time. In fact, this will be our first Easter Sunday that we will not be away for spring break.

I purchased collapsible baskets from the dollar store years ago. I fold them up and put them into my luggage. If I can spare some room in my luggage, I will buy a few non-perishable goodies and pack them. Once we get to our destination and shop for groceries, I will purchase a few candy and chocolate items for them. I then just leave them at the doorstep of our hotel room or on the living room table of our rental for them on Easter morning. They always get a kick out of how they're on vacation, yet the Easter bunny always seems to find them, so I'm sure that your DS5 will love the egg idea!!

The year we went to WDW over Easter, I told my not-quite-5 year old that I'd made arrangements with the Easter Bunny for him to come a week early. She still accepts that Mommy has ways of communicating with both the Bunny and Santa.

You can also do the Easter Egg hunts at the parks, to make it more special.

We will be there there for Easter as well; staying at the Tropicana. I emailed and they confirmed that I can ship my daughter's basket to them, marked with my name and arrival date, so I don't have to try to sneak it in our luggage.
