First time at Universal-Need advice!

What are the top 2 rides at each park? What is the top "need to know" tip you have for us?

Universal: Gringotts and Mummy (or Rip Ride Rocket)

Top two is subjective though

Get there early for Hagrids.

US: Escape from Gringotts and ET

Make sure you get an ice cream from Florean Fortescues in Diagon Alley 9i recommend the Granny Smith Apple or the Earl Grey & Lavender)
The app is very helpful. CityWalk also has great places to eat.

I have to defer, as I'm planning my first visit this summer. But my guess is that it depends if you go before or after June 9 for IoA.

You do not have to plan every detial months in advance. I would reccomend making a list of the rides/shows/places you want to eat and shop before you leave for the trip. Each day, figure out what you want to do.

Top tip would be to WEAR A FANNY PACK WITH A THREE POINT LATCH. This seems so dorky, and sometimes you just have to carry a larger pack, or buy things at the parks that now make the fanny pack less useful - but at MOST Universal cool rides, you will need to put your bags in a locker. This is time confusing and kind of a hassle - so wearing an old fashioned, hideous fanny pack will save you lots of time, multiple times a day.

I managed to wear it and latch the belt at all rides by kind of hoisting it under my bosom at the last moment before latching.
