I made my reservation for 2 weeks in June at the Fort - this will be our first time at the Fort and in our popup  When I did the reservation I chose a "preferred" site - should I have done anything else - I see people discussing different loops - is this something you can do before you arrive?

Also, where can I get "disney" awning lights?

I've seen the Disney Lights in the Trading Posts at Ft. Wilderness and in the Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney.

we have always just "winged it" when it came to our FW ressies. we make a ressie for a non preferred site (we don't need a prefered) and then just take what they give us. we have never had a bad site.

i do have to say though that twice we have gotten the site that is right behind the bath house. great for us as we appreciated being close to the potty. we have AC though and when it is running, you can't hear the noise from the compresser in the bath house at all. if you didn't have the hum of the AC to dround out that sound, it might be a bit bothersome.

if you think that will be an issue for you, you could investigate for some site numbers that are away from the bath houses.

We just got back from our first stay at FW. I requested a preferred site and a pet loop, but other than that I really didn't know what loop to request so I didn't. We ended up in loop 300, which we really liked. After being there for a week, we now know where things are and how the transportation, etc., works. It's hard to know what to request until you have been there. I wouldn't worry about not requesting a certain loop; it looked to me like most of the sites were nice.

I think most of the discussion of loops is those of us that have big rigs ( like my 39' motorhome ) and have trouble getting into sites that have a bad angle or trees too close to the cement pad. With a pop up or a normal size :rolleyes1 rig, there probably isn't any such thing as a bad site. :thumbsup2 And you could save some money by staying at a non-preferred site. Preferred site have sewer, water, 50amps, and cable tv with internet service ($$$). No cable at non-preferred.
