Our first stay at the Garden Wing is on Sept 7-16. We've stayed in the tower before, but never in the Garden Wing section. We have a garden view room booked and I was looking for some opinions from others who have stayed there before about how to make the most out of a garden wing stay. We mainly booked here for the convenience of walking to the MK since that's where we spend the majority of our time (there and EP). Is there any particular room or room number range to request to get a quiet room, queen beds, etc or is that not a concern? I do hear that it's pretty quiet over there in general. Is there a covered walkway that connects to the tower? Anything other tips that I would need to know?

We were going to stay there, but switched resorts, lol. But I wanted pool side, 1st floor, as that would have a patio and ease to pool. If that is important to you. Also, there is the side that overlooks the water, not on the poolside. Pretty sure this is the closest walking range as well, and it is covered walkway,

I would prefer to be facing away from the pool, so hopefully a garden view room will fit the bill.

So I think you need to request this then. I don't believe they have a pool category, its either garden or standard.

Garden view rooms can face the pool or lake or the waterway, I believe. The standard rooms face the parking lot. If it were me, I would book garden view and then request a lake view, ground floor.

We were in a garden view room in January and our room faced the pool & Bay Lake. The lake wraps around much of the garden wing, so the only side with no lake view is standard view, which faces the parking lot and monorail. It was literally freezing outside during our trip, so there was obviously no pool noise when we were there. If you're worried, I'd ask where your room is at check-in, and if it's close to the pool, ask to be moved elsewhere. The garden wing rooms near the pool are the closest ones to the tower, fyi.

We had a handicapped room due to my mobility-impaired mother being with us, so we were first floor, near the entrance. It was quiet and peaceful- much more so than the tower. Yes, there is a covered walkway to get to and from the tower.

I've attached a link to Touring Plan's resort map for the Contemporary, and you can also use this to find room numbers and see what different room views are like.

Here is a link to a pic of which online check-in choices you'll have.

We stayed at the CR in a standard view, garden wing room and we were down in the T part of the building and our view faced the wall of the rest of the building. This was our first Disney trip and I didn't know to request something specific. Make sure you request something that is going to get you a view of something other than a brick wall.

Would facing the waterway be that bad or are the boats blowing their horns a problem?

We were in the rooms closest to the boat docks, and never noticed boat horns. The dock is not particularly close to the garden wing.
