This will be my first time staying at Pop Century. I have heard lots of good things about it and was hoping someone would be able to answer a few questions....
** I made my reservation asking for a non-preferred room as close to Hippy Dippy Pool as possible....was this a mistake ....I read somewhere to ask for building 5/Baloo building...would that be a better choice
**I carry an epipen as I have allergies to peanuts, tree nuts and shellfish...do I need to fill out the special diets form for the resort hotel as well or do I speak to the chef as soon as I check in or at each mealtime
**Also, in regards to allergies, are there any dessert options at Pop such as muffins/treats or will fruit bowls be my only safe option
Any answers greatly appreciated and other suggestions are welcome as well

Thanks :)

I can't speak to your first two questions because when I stayed at the POP I did not make any particular room requests and I have no food allergies.

However I can tell you that the POP food court had a large selection of baked goods available. Also, if you go weary of POP's food court, the Art of Animation is a short walk across the generation gap bridge.

Enjoy the POP!

It's been my experience that when making requests you stick with one thing and remember that requests are not guaranteed. If you want to be closer to the main bldg., you may want to look at booking a preferred room. As for food allergies, be sure to fill out the special diets form as soon as possible and then follow up to be sure they received it. I know once you're at the food court, let them know you wish to speak to the chef and they will come out and help you with your food selections. Also, if you haven't done so yet, go over to the disabilities thread as you will find a ton of information that can help you there.

I have been there many years and they have helped me out. Just tell them and fill out the form and they will make sure your food allergies are ok. The food manager even came out to see me when I explained I had a nuts allergy and was diabetic! they were great! I love POP! I am also a voluntary Disney Imagineer and can tell you that they take it seriously!:surfweb:

how bad is peanut allergy?

would being in plane you up front - and the person w/peanuts being in the back area - would that set you off?

if so then definitely send in the list.

just decide which food court you want - then when it is your turn - tell them what your allergies are or just say you have food allergies - they will get chef (it takes a few minutes)

now is some restaurants (more in restaurants than food courts) there are some food servers who think they can help you and no need to see the chef. well my results with this - I know best guys have not been good.

so bring a list of my allergies and give it to the chef - then he has with him.

make several copies.

(oh have several strange allergies - pepper my body reacts like it is food poison - so understand)

also if you are allergy to any other things - bring that list with you too.
bring one for you room, one for you to kept on you at all times.
