First Time at Kona Cafe

Absolutely, positively get the teriyaki steak! It was out of this world. Not sure if you'll be ordering an appetizer, but the sticky wings are incredible. I wouldn't go to Kona without ordering them! Had the torte for dessert, and DH had the cheesecake. Both were very good. Enjoy!!

I'm glad I found this thread. My mom and I are going in September and the menu looks so good. I am glad that people seem to really enjoy it there.

We ate here last January. Here are photos of the ginger-crusted rib eye, the Kilauea Torte and the Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee....YUMMM!

Thank you so much for the pictures! I really don't know how I'm going to decide which dessert to get. They all sound and look wonderful! :woohoo:

I forgot about the Kilauea Torte!! I'm a chocoholic so it's a must if I've saved room! :cloud9:

the monorails should still be running but I would take the walkway anyway. The walk is great and you can walk off dinner.

My husband and I will be eating at Kona for lunch on our next trip. Has anyone eaten here for lunch and have any food recommendations? Thanks!

The sticky wings with mustard drizzle are SOOO yummy!

DH recommends the teriyaki steak

For dessert I LOVED the banana creme brulee. There's a thin layer of chocolate at the bottom and the combination is delicious. :)

And you have to try the bread with the butter that they bring you. I could make that my meal and be perfectly happy!!

Need I say more?!?;)

For all your Kona Cafe experts: Is there any way to get the Tonga Toast without going there for breakfast? I really want to try it, but it looks like we'll be going there for dinner during our trip. Unfortunately my boyfriend isn't a breakfast person and would rather go there for dinner since we loved it so much last time. Anything I can do, or am I out of luck?

Konas is a nice couple restaurant..little noisy sometimes as it opens to the lobby. But the looks of it and the way it is set up is nice.

I had the prime rib and enjoyed it. have eaten there 2-3 times.
I know I had the duck dumplings once...I didnt quite like that, but i thinki it was more me and duck than the food itself.
There isnt anything hubby has eaten there that he didnt love
