First time at Coronado Springs

Reading these posts has gotten me very excited for our first CSR stay in November! For those of you who have made requests, how specific can you get? Like specific rooms, views, etc? I understand that it's not always possible to honor such requests, but just wondering who's tried it and if it worked out for ya! I'm leaning towards the Cabanas 8a or 8b-love that they have a little beach at that "village".

We have only requested buildings, not specific rooms or views. However, we have requested first floor (due to a stroller) and on a separate trip, a set of three rooms in a row (my parents/my sister and BIL with her kids/my boyfriend and myself) and have been granted those requests. When we got put into Ranchos, it was during Free Dining, and they told us that the whole resort was pretty booked and there was no room for wiggle to get us into our preferred location. I am still in the mind set that any location and any building in CSR is one of the best places to be on property. I'm so excited for everyone who is going!

Thinking of being by the Dig Site with a Cancun Colada... instead of sitting at my desk at work. Shh, don't tell my boss. #disneydaydreaming

We're going in January and not bringing kids. Csr sounds great. I have my race tickets but haven't booked a room yet.
Sounds great here. Hopefully jan brings some god discounts

Glad to read this thread!

I will be there with a convention in almost a month. There will be 5 rooms with our party. We booked a convention rate room. Any ideas where these rooms might be located or if it's worth having people make a request for a certain bldg? Our first day will be check in and go right to MK. Otherwise, we'll be in the convention from 8-4 daily. One night we plan to go to EPCOT, but again, bus location will not be a big priority to us. We will get breakfast and lunch at the convention, so I'm thinking just being close to the convention center would be important to us. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure they would already have a block of rooms assigned to your convention so room request would probably be pointless. Typically I think they assign most conventions to the Casitas 1-3 buildings unless its a huge convention or there are multiple conventions requiring more rooms.

So I am wondering. If I was booked a "convention" rate, but not actually attending a convention, will they also put me in the Casitas section? We are coming during Oct. when free dining is NOT offered.

It's nice to hear so many glowing reviews for CSR - I've always toyed with the idea of staying there, but ultimately, have always chosen something else. Now I feel much more motivated to give it a try!

I recommend checking the difference in prices between room rates. We were already booked for Christmas at Fort Wilderness before free dining came out. But since the last date for FD was Dec 21st and we were already set to arrive on the 22nd, I decided to do a split stay with CSR as our first stop before we head to the Fort. When I checked prices for a room for 3 nights, it was less than $10 difference to book business class vs. the other cheapest available room for FD. That's not per day it was the difference was overall. Since it's our first stay at CSR I'm excited to see the differences to our previous stays at CBR and POR. Plus I'm excited to get such a great location and with all the amenities.

:tinker:My husband just booked a spur of the moment trip for anniversary!! We are staying at CSR for the first time. Any tips that we should know about? TIA
We leave in 11 days!!!!

I would request Cabanas 9a because it is close to the main pool, the buses, and the food court. Cabanas 9a is also the location of the quiet pool for the Cabanas section :)

We are staying at CSR for the first time in October and we are so excited . I requested the Cabanas area (we are booked for Standard View) because we want to be as close to both the main pool and the main building as possible. I do really like the looks of the Ranchos section, but I feel they are too way out there for what we want. I am so glad to hear that others like the Cabanas as well, crossing my fingers that we get that section. Oh, we too have a reservation for Maya Grill...the menu looks amazing, we all can't wait to try it out. I have been looking at pictures and watching YouTube video of the resort and it is so pretty, I know my family will enjoy ourselves there :goodvibes.
May I ask how you put in your request? I am also booked for October and assumed you can only put in a request at the time of online check in.

I just called CRO and told them that I wanted to put in a request. That is when I told them that I wanted to request the Cabanas section which they notated it on my reservation. I have read that it isn't good to have too many requests put in, just give them the top 3 with the first one being your most important then so forth and so on. But to get to the right person, I pressed the number on my phone that took me to the resort reservations and then I said I wanted to modify my reservation.

Ok thanks. I am still hoping a business class room becomes available for my dates but your info is helpful to know. Thanks!

It has the same amenities you would expect at a Deluxe resort.

Fitness Center, Spa, Salon, Sauna, lap pool, Business Class is like club level light, Large night club style lounge as well as outdoor lounges by the main building and by the pool. It has the largest hot tub at WDW and the 2nd longest waterslide.
These are the reasons CSR is nick named the Deluxe Lite WDW Resort. Love it there.

This comes up plenty of times, and as I always say, this is what we consider a deluxe-lite....Like others have stated w/ all the amenities...And if it weren't for DVC, this would be our place to be....

Although, I would definitely try and grab a Ranchos room, for different reasons than in the past....Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and so convenient to the main pool/dig site. But until recently I just found out about the food choices close by.

Good luck in whichever you choose...I'm sure you'll be back..LoL:thumbsup2
EDIT: Sorry didn't read these last 2 posts....aka. Deluxe lite..
