We just planned a last minute trip to Disney. (Only for 4 nights)Because we could get a room for $59 we are staying at All Star Music. However, have always stayed at a moderate. Will we like the All Stars? My two children love to swim, how is the pool. Also we are going Labor Day weekend usually we go in October or November, what type of crowd can we expect. One more thing. We have not been in three years, what tips can you give me so that we can make the most of this trip.
My mother came down to visit me a few months ago. She's stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and most recently, the Grand Floridian. I wanted to have her stay at AK Lodge, but she said that since it was just herself, she wanted the cheapest possible... so she changed my reservation for AK Lodge to All Star Music.
She stayed in the Rock 'n Roll section... and she liked it, actually. She was close to the quiet pool, so she enjoyed that. The pools aren't as elaborate as some of the other more expensive resorts, meaning, no water slide... but they are still nice. The main pool had a fountain I beleive. The walk from the Rock 'n Roll section was not far to the main building.
Even though we had my car, we still took Disney transportation to get around. (Yes... I do practice what I preach

) Most of the time, we waited about 5 mins or less... although one time we had to wait 11 minutes. (We must have just missed it) During park exits, the bus was crowded, but that's only to be expected when you have 30,000 people exiting a park at once.
The one thing I was a bit dissapointed in, was that the All-Stars don't have any bell services. Meaning, when you check in... you have to walk back to your room with your luggage. Having always stayed at a Deluxe, I was expecting someone to take my mother back in a golf cart. But, my mother is a world traveller, so she can handle herself. And like I said, it's not a far walk.
As for some tips that I have... Just some simple basic ones...
Relax... slow down... you're here to have fun, not get all stressed out. You get enough of that in the real world.
Labor Day weekend will probably be a bit more crowded than you're used to. As such, lines might be a little bit longer, and busses might be a little bit more crowded. As long as you expect this, you should be fine. As crowds get larger, we beef up the transportation... so I wouldn't worry about that. Lines can be deceiving, so don't always rely on that either.
And once again... the most important thing, which I cannot stress enough... Relax, and HAVE FUN!
