We'll be staying three nights at BCV in Feb. 2006 (renting points)... just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice concerning this resort (where to eat nearby, what to do, what to avoid, etc.) We'll be 4 adults and one 4-year old. Although I'm sure we'll be at the MK most of the time I picked BC mainly because of the pool and the style of the resort. (DD is a HUGE swimmer - that will probably be her favourite part!)

This past Feb. was our first trip to WDW on our (belated) honeymoon and we stayed at PO Riverside... we were pretty disappointed, our room was a *really* long walk away from the restaurant/lobby and we didn't have a rental car so we were stuck eating the super expensive (and not too exciting) food in the food court. This year we'll be renting a car... (live and learn!) We still had a nice trip though... the crowds were light and the weather was awesome! (A nice break from the -25C up here in Feb.!)

Also we're considering buying into DVC eventually so this trip will be a good way to test the waters!

Enjoy! You'll love the BCV's! :teeth:

Be sure to eat at Cape May Cafe' at the BC ! Both the character breakfast buffet and the clambake dinner buffet are awesome and your 4yr old is sure to love the breakfast! :)

As for other good eats in the immeadiate area of the BCV's.....you are within walking distance to the YC which has the Yachtsman steakhouse....great for dinner! Also within walking distance of any of the resturants at the BW,Swan & Dolphin and you can either walk or take the boat to both Epcot or MGM. It's only a 5min. walk to World showcase in Epcot from the BCV's....so many different resturants to choose from there. And of course you have Cape May cafe' as I mentioned as well as Beaches -n- Cream soda shop (great burgers and yummy ice cream :goodvibes ), hurricane hannahs pool bar has some burgers and such too and quick eats at the beach club marketplace - and these are all within the BC resort itself ;)

You didn't mention what size villa you'll be staying in but in the 1bdrm and larger villas they also come with a full size kitchen.....at the very least a studio size has a microwave for those yummy doggy bags when you just couldn't eat another bite at dinner the night before :rolleyes1

Enjoy! :wave2:

As far as things to do there, take a walk along the Boardwalk -- they have entertainers performing there in the evening (musicians, jugglers, magicians, etc.) There are several restaurants along the Boardwalk: Spoodles, Big River Grille, Flying Fish Cafe, ESPN Club and a great bakery. You can rent a surrey bike and peddle along the path around the lake.

Being able to walk into Epcot is so convenient. It makes it very easy to dine at any of the restaurants around the World Showcase and then just stroll home afterwards. So between the restaurants at YC/BC, the Boardwalk and Epcot you have lots of dining options. MGM is not far away either -- you can walk there in about 20 minutes or take the boat.

You will LOVE the BCV's with a car. The parking for the villas is just steps away....it is SOOO nice.

I definitely recommend taking dd to Minnie's bfast at BCV. And, make sure you get her a kid's meal at SAB (Hurricane Hanna's). It comes in a bucket with a shovel...it is so cute!!!

I hope the weather is warm enough for her to swim....my dd LOVES that pool!!!

Thanks everyone for your help - it's much appreciated! I've made a ressie at Ohana's (we went last year and loved it) and one at CRT (despite the price increase - yikes!! :earseek: ) and for the other meals we'll take your suggestions... Cape May, the Boardwalk or Epcot's showcase!

I have a few more questions though!

Are there any dishes provided in the studios?
Is Stormalong Bay heated?
To get to Ohana's will it be faster to take Disney Transport or to drive?

Thanks - you guys are great! :-)
