After carefully plotting our quick and dirty 5 day WDW trip, including a split stay based around proximity of parks, I just found out yesterday that I planned our MGM on the very first day of the Star Wars juggernaut (that would be Fri, May 20). I need advice about it! Should we abandon plans of going there at all that day? I cannot tolerate super heavy crowds, I hyperventilate! Will the next day, Sat, probably be just as bad or worse? I hate to change days if there's little difference cos that would mean switching other days and lots of PSs. We will be back on Saturday night for a Fantasmic dinner package anyway ...

We have 2 small kids so I realize that, for the most part, the shows (Playhouse Disney, Little Mermaid, etc) we will gravitate to are not the ones the SW fans will be primarily interested in. However, poor DH always misses Star Tours for some reason and really wants to try it. Will ST be completely swamped the entire day? He is actually enthusiastic about the people and character watching aspect of going that weekend. In fact, he even asked me if I thought there would be Star Wars specific autograph books (After I told him he was a geek I said I would ask here so does anyone know the answer? :earboy2: )

Any advice about Star Wars weekend would be greatly appreciated! Thanx!

Even if the first weekend wasn't busy in previous years it will be this year. The first weekend starts the day after Episode III is released. Chances are, MGM will be really really busy for the whole weekend. ST will be busy all day. I've never seen a Star Wars specific autograph book ( I say make your own ;) ). But, just remember... it's just for the weekend.

We are going to be there the first weekend too and I am making DS a Star Wars autograph book. I got a black mini-scrapbook at Wal-mart for $3 and I have a book of classic SW stickers from Amazon and a few Attack of the Clones sheets from (of all places) the supermarket! I have been making autogrpah books for the last few trips. They come out really great. http://photos.yahoo.com/mazzara815 You should try making one.

May 20th 2005 as stated above is 2nd day of Episode III release.

Though nothing has been confirmed yet, I expect a large contingent of the www.501st.com to be there in full regalia all weekend. and yes it will be crowded around that particular ride... but thats all i expect.

we'll see ya in may. we'll be checking in to POR about 8:30am and in MGM by 10:00 on the 20th.

See ya at POR and maybe MGM. Checking in about 11:00pm the 20th and will get to MGM as fast as I can on the 21st. :wave2:
