"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

So who has been on a Disney cruise? I'm thinking about one for my 40th birthday, which would be Jan. 2011. I know a long, sort of, way off, but I've heard that you get better deals book early, and two years out would be Jan. 09.

So what does everyone think.

By the way, next update is waiting for my Photopass cd to arrive in the mail, any day now.

I am doing a cruise for my birthday. not disney but a cruise.

darn photopass cd get here already. :lmao:

Where are you going on your cruise?

I'm trying to be patient about the photopass cd, but it's very difficult for me, since I have zero patience for anything.

Look what I woke up to this morning.

We did a Disney cruise in 2005 for our 25th - no kids. It was the best thing we ever did! Lots to do and so relaxing - the food was fantastic! The earlier you book, the better rate you get. I found that the Disney rates were just as good as the TAs. The TAs give you onboard credit and then charge you for it on their rates. That was my experience. Some others have done better. It depends on if you have a definite opinion about where your cabin is, etc. The earlier you book the better chance to get exactly what you want!

We had snow on the ground again yesterday!

You know I am all about Disney cruises -- haven't taken one yet, but plan to next November (2009) hopefully! I would book it right this minuter if I could!

I don't know if we have an opinion on where are cabin is or not? I will have to research.

I guess I should get researching and decide then!

:snooty:

OP, I have only started to read your trip report, but just wanted to let you know I was at DL at the same time as you (Halloween 2006)!

Yes, cruise!
I do think you save money by booking early. We booked our Oct. 2009 cruise back in Feb., and I really don't think you can beat the price.

Shocker...but I found some great cruise info on the Dis. I also had no idea about room locations until reading about people's special tips. Definitely take the time to look over on the cruise threads.
I was able to book the exact room I wanted.

Love your trip report!
We live in the Seattle area too and take the loooong redeye flight to Orlando--ugh! I always just tell myself if we fly at night we get another day at Disney!
We took the 4 day Wonder last year and LOVED it! It was just my husband and I and we can't wait to take our kids with us next time. Wish we would have done that for my 40th this year! Maybe for my 41st...:scratchin

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!
Susie

Butting in  Another person who's flown the same flight we'll be taking! Did you use MasterPark too?

We feel the same way about flying at night. If you fly at night, then you aren't wasting vacation time during the day :thumbsup2 The way we booked our flights, we'll be at the resort for a good 10 hours before the rest of the group arrives :goodvibes but they wanted to fly during the day, so there ya go :rotfl:

Sorry, stagemom, I couldn't resist buttin in :flower3:

We had so much fun on that trip! I really wish we could go to Disneyland for Halloween every year.

I think I'm going to start haunting the DCL board.

I did like that it gave us another day, I think it helped a little with the time change too. I'm not sure though.

No problem at all! :goodvibes

I have been reading your trip report, and i finally caught up!! Sounds like you had a great vacation so far!!! Keep on writing...

Hi! I just found your TR and spent the better part of the afternoon reading it (can you tell I am procrastinating getting work done?). Love it so far and I think that we may be related in another life!!

We are also from the Seattle area (definately taking the red-eye flight!) and I have also become a OCDTP! We are going Feb 2009 and I have spent MUCH time here and on TGM the past month. :surfweb: All I can talk about is what we are going to do and where we are going to eat at each park. My DH just chuckles and shakes his head. :rotfl:

We have never been to DisneyLand before though so when we eventually go you will have to point me in the direction of all the great planning resources for DL ;)
