Epcot seems to be the place for meltdowns - I had mine there a few years ago - and surprisingly Garden Grill was involved. We stopped by GG to see if we could get in and couldn't so we were headed back to the Electric Umbrella - or somewhere in that general direction to eat (or so I thought) because 4 out of 5 of us were starved! We always eat at Garden Grill on Epcot day so our tummies were all prepared for "all-you-can-eat" and when they got nothing they were disappointed and letting us know it! Hungry mom's are crabby mom's.

So while 4 out of 5 of us are following our hungry tummies in search of food, 1 of us says we should go to the Living Seas (before Nemo moved in) since we were in the area. 4 out of 5 of us start grumbling so 1 of us stomps off like he is doing us a big favor by allowing us to have food - but making it painfully aware that he will be in a major snit the rest of the day

Knowing him the way I do

I figured the lesser of 2 evils was to allow my children and myself to continue starving so my husband could look at fish - otherwise the day was shot and he would be pouting and making everybody miserable

So while he is stomping off I stop and tell him that if "he wants to go look at his *ing fish" (nice use of alliteration - but decidededly non-Disney words!!!) he better do it now

and headed that way dragging said starving children along with me.

There was no ride there - it was just walking around and looking at fish. And I am sorry, but some areas of that pavilion smell and when I am hungry to the point of a headache - smelling fishy water is not my idea of a good time.

I kept a respectful distance from hubby, did not partake of fish watching - but kept hubby and starving children within eyesight so I would be ready when they finally headed towards the exit. Once his fish-viewing was over, and I was sufficiently fed

then I was able to talk to him again without wanting to beat him and vacation could officially resume.

Now you may ask yourself what the difference was between my pouting my way through Living Seas or him pouting his way through lunch??? See - mine ended once I had food

- his would have continued throughout the day because we would have either had to backtrack to go to Living Seas, or we would have skipped it and either way it would have been our fault.
Fortunately incidents like that don't happen too often.
I am surprised by the various negative comments about Garden Grill, though. That is one of the few places that we try to do each trip. There are others that we wind up at just about every trip - but Garden Grill is the one that I have actually made ADRs for - and I hate making ADRs. In fact it was because of this trip and our not getting to eat there that I started making ADRs for there each time.
