I called Member Services to make my first ressies today. I got a studio for 3 nights in Aug for BCV. I was so excited! For Thanksgiving week all my nights were available for a 2 BR at OKW except Thanksgiving night so I waitlisted the last night. I was making the same ressies for my neighbor and called to make sure he was ok with the wait list. When I called back to make the ressies for him I was told they had lock offs for the whole week. Would you feel comfortable with an almost 5 and almost 9 yr old with the exterior door? My youngest follows rules well. Is the room configured where you could move the table in front of the door to block it off at night in case they got up and got confused and went to the wrong door. Does the door have the latch as well as a dead bolt? It is interesting that I was not even asked about a lockoff vs a dedicated the first call to MS. Is it possible just to be asked to be moved to a dedicated if it becomes available? Sorry this is so long. I would appreciate any advice.:)

Obviously, I haven't personally seen the BCV lock off units, but based on what I've read here and on the layouts, I think your boys will be OK.

The door to the hallway will have a deadbolt lock and a device similar to the "safety chain" above it. Your little one may not even be able to reach it. (Sorry, I don't know the exact name of it). That device prevents the door from being opened all the way when it is engaged. If you're just worried about the younger one getting confused, this should help prevent an accidental exit at night.

I'm not sure if you could move the table to block the door - it might also block the door to the kitchen/living area. You'd probably actually have to see the unit to know that.

I'd recommend that you keep the door from the second bedroom to the living area open after you go to bed. I'd also leave the entry light on or bring a night light to plug in to one of the outlets. Maybe for the first night or two, I'd leave the master bedroom door open, too. Most parents report that their kids get so tired at WDW that once they fall asleep, they just don't wake up until the next morning.

You should be able to call MS and request a dedicated 2 bedroom, but I don't know how these are assigned. But even if you don't get one, I think you will be OK in the lock off.

Enjoy your trip!
