I bit the bullet and we are booked on RCCL for an Alaskan cruise in July 2026. It will depart on Friday, July 3rd so we'll be missing the usual holiday fireworks. When we return, we're going to take a few days to visit friends in the area. They sadly just booked a cruise in August 2026 for just adults. Which honestly, sounds like heaven, but I'll have to talk my brother in law into keeping our son for a week first! LOL

I know we're planning on the train in Skagway and are really excited about it. We did the early seating for dinner b/c we're in Central time and 7:45 would be 9:45 our time. Not good for a 13 yo to get Hangry. So when we take the train excursion, we'll just have to plan on getting something in port or from a quick service onboard.

Anyone else have Alaska booked for this timeframe?

I just bit the bullet and booked us for August 9th sailing out of Vancouver. We are a party of 7 and I chose my time dining just because with the port times I wasn't sure about either choice. We are not going to Skagway but I have been already researching about our ports. I am so excited but it costing a small fortune. I decided to book it since the price has only been increasing since the iterinary was first released. Look forward to hearing about your plans.

BTW this will be our 4th Royal Cruise. I have adult children but they love the boats.

Have you started to look at getting to Vancouver. Flying into Vancouver seems very expensive while flying into Seattle is much cheaper. I am looking at flying into Seattle and taking Amtrak up to Vancouver. Just wondering if you have started to look at this. I pay for my adult childrens cabins but they have to cover their flights just trying to find the best deal for them.

We have friends who live in the Seattle area so that's why we're going out of there vs Vancouver. I want to visit Vancouver at some point, but right now I can't justify the extra time that would take. And honestly, I'd like to see where everything ends up with visitors to Canada. Too much up in the air.

Bit late to this thread but we’re booked for May 31 2026 out of Vancouver. It’ll be everyone’s first visit to AK, my and my husband’s second RCI cruise, my daughter and my parents’ first. (And first cruise for my parents, period.) Planning to help celebrate my parents’ fiftieth anniversary! (Seven months early but no one would want to cruise AK in December if that were even an option 😆)

I’m admittedly nervous about how international travel from US will shake out, but hoping for everything to go smoothly.

Such as special cruise. Same...First Alaska cruise booked June 2026, but out of Seattle. It's DH and my 25th anniversary so we wanted to do something different. Starting research already as it's so different from Caribbean or Bahamas cruise. We'll be on Anthem. What ship are you on?
Also hoping things clear as we're coming from Canada (but have other cruises booked in-between).

OP what ship for you? What stops? So exciting. We return on the 4th so similar timing.

Early congrats on your 25th!

We’ll be on the Serenade. Smaller (and older, as I understand it) but we’re hoping smaller will be easier for my mom, who has some mobility issues.

We’re beginning to do a bit of planning, though honestly the first and most important step will be getting my mom her passport! Everyone else has one already, though my dad’s might have expired. I’ll have to ask!

Have heard Serenade is a great ship for Alaska. Lots of glass windows for indoor viewing and it's smaller so better chance of getting places.
