First night MUST dos

We’ve done different things depending on arrival times, but we’ve settled into swimming and dinner at whatever resort we’re staying or a resort close by. I used to plan time at a park or a busy character meal and it ended up being exhausting on that first night. The kids would also end up whining about wanting to swim on our first park day and it’s nice to at least get one swim in right off the bat to satisfy them!

We take it easy now. I’ve done ticketed events like moonlight madness at typhoon lagoon and we were just TIRED before the event even started. Now, I will plan dinner at Disney Springs. We really like Chef Art Smith’s or The Edison.

I just try to get into a park as soon as possible and stay through fireworks. This usually means Epcot or Magic Kingdom.

We always "hope" our room is ready on time or early so we can get settled in a bit. Then we usually head over to Disney Springs for dinner and to walk around some of the shops. Then we try to get to bed at a normal time to hit the ground for rope drop in the first park the next day.

We red eye in for our trips so we tend to get to the resort, check in drop off bags and go off somewhere to find breakfast and entertain ourselves for a couple hours. MK is our first stop but from there we are open. the year there was a bear in the park we ended up resort hoping to French quarter to have the beignets for the first time, going to Disney springs to end up at the poly to work around the monorail to go through Epcot and skyliner back to Riviera.

Past couple times has just been a lazy day at MK with waffles at Sleepy Hollow, a couple of our favorite rides to work back to the resort to unpack then soak in the poo before crashing for the next full day.
