I am arriving at WDW on June 27th. We are going to probably head for Downtown Disney and shop for a little while. We want to have surprises waiting in the room when my brother and his family arrive the next day. We have AP's so we'll probably head to MK after that. (I can't believe it is only open til 7). Anyway, my brother and his family will arrive the next day. They are driving from NY state so I'm not sure when they will arrive. They will probably want to rest (but with all the exitement I'm not sure they will). They won't have AP's so we won't go to a park that day. We are staying at Coronado Springs.

What would you recommend we do that evening? There will be 4 adults and 2 children (ages 10 and 8). We would like to do something that doesn't cost too much money.

I thought about going over to AKL and let them see it and maybe have dinner there. I also thought we would head to the Boardwalk and maybe get a "kitchen sink" from Beaches and Cream.

Any other ideas? Thanks!

DTD is always our favorite 1st night thing. Since you're doing that on your first night, I would probably go to the Boardwalk (if you don't want to do DTD again!;) ) The Boardwalk has the street entertainers, carnival games, face painting, etc. Plus they great restaurants to choose from. It's one of those places that has something for everyone!:D :D :D :D

As you said, your brother's family will probably be tired. I would plan a fun evening at the wonderful Mayan pool at your resort. The kids can swim or use the playground near by, and the adults can get caught up poolside. Talk over your plans for the next day. Go to bed early and wake up "loaded for bear!" (Pooh, that is!)

Have a great trip!

we just got back yesterday.our first night was saturday the 10th and we went and played minature golf and fantasia gardens and we had a blast.you could also go to downtown disney,or the boardwalk.

On our first night, we always do Chef Mickeys, but since you don't want to spend too much money, our next idea would be to go to Boardwalk as someone else suggested...It is always so much fun to rent a Surrey bike and ride around the lake there...also they do have entertainers who are very good, carnival games that are great for kids (and adults!:p), many stores to shop in or browse and places to eat..they also have an arcade down by ESPN! :)

Have a wonderful time! :)

I was also going to say hit the pool. That's what we plan to do when we arrive since we only have one night at CS. We've never stayed there and my son is looking forward to the pool. Plus, Winter/Summerland is so close (or is it Summer/Winterland?).

We are planning to catch the sing a long with Chip and Dale and the outdoor movie at Ft Wilderness. It's free to any resort guests. Then perhaps a mini- tour of the world on the monorail. Free also.

My family's first night tradition is dinner with the Chef (Mickey, that is) and a monorail ride.

Someone mentioned the movie over at Ft. Wilderness, which I was going to suggest. There's also a petting zoo and pony rides. Trail's End buffet is probably one of the cheapest sit down meals on property, too. Good food!

Depending on what time of the day your brother gets there. If he gets there early enough enjoy a relaxing swim in the pool. The sun in the late afternoon is excellent and not very hot weather. Since you are doing DTD on your first night then the BW would be a great idea. BTW the "kitchen sink" @ Beaches is also a must. Enjoy your trip.
