First Night Honeymoon Dinner

I will throw The Boardwalk out there as well. There are multiple restaurants around there that are very highly rated and then you can choose to stop over at Epcot or Hollywood Studios for fireworks which are both within walking distance or you can just walk around The Boardwalk and enjoy a quiet evening with crowds being lower in that area or stop in at the dueling piano bar and enjoy some music after a great meal. The restaurants I would recommend near The Boardwalk are Flying Fish, Shula's (best steak on property in my opinion), Yachtsman, Il Mulino and Kimonos. It is also beautiful to see The Boardwalk at night and would be a great place for a romantic walk after a wonderful dinner.

Thank you! We love the beach, steakhouses, and enjoyed the piano bar on our last cruise. Hmmmm this may be a great idea. Never been over to the boardwalk area. I had no clue!

Great! We usually stay at The Boardwalk because there is a nice area to do things that are outside the parks, adult oriented and not nearly as crowded as nights at Disney Springs. Some days we go to the parks in the mornings and then just play the evenings by ear and have dinner or a drink at The Boardwalk area or wonder over to World Showcase for a snack. It is a great place to relax after all of the hustle and bustle of the parks and Disney Springs. Congratulations and I hope you have a great Honeymoon.

Just a tip if you are coming from another resort, take the bus to Hollywood Studios and then it is about a ten minute walk to The Boardwalk once you get off of the bus.

Here is another thread that has a map for the route.

I have not eaten at Boatwright's. My thoughts are that generally people who don't like have either eaten authentic cajun food and Boatwright's isn't very authentic or good quality, or they are people who might not like cajun food. I haven't eaten there, because I like cajun, we have a good place near us, and we go to New Orleans fairly often. If dinner were the focus, I would take the boat to Disney Springs and eat there. Morimoto, Homecoming, Paddlefish, and Boathouse would probably all be good options.

As for the carriage, I always want to do these. However, I always think of the Seinfeld episode with beefaroni and the heat in Florida in the summer, and I end up changing my mind. If you don't want to be tainted from riding a carriage again, don't go looking up the Seinfeld episode. They do seem romantic though. I personally like walking along the water between Poly and Grand Floridian at night, especially if you can see the Electrical Water Pageant. The path is usually dead and quiet. There used to be benches and porch swings along the beach at Poly in a quiet area. There are good, romantic restaurants at Poly and GF. I would even include Trader Sam's in this, even though it's a bar/lounge. They have really good food and drinks, and the inside is such a blast. I just find Poly to be very romantic.

Have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon.

Anyone know if these are refundable once booked?

If someone bought it through some sort of Disney Wedding registry I'm not sure, but there should be the same cancellation window as other recreation activities 24/48 hours.

How it works is they pay this website and it gets deposited in our checking account nothing is booked by Disney until we do. So I'm guessing I can refund like normal. The carriage ride is already charged to my credit card.

I would either Uber or take the Disney bus to Disney Springs and book at one of the nice table service restaurants. I'd recommend Paddlefish based on the location and ambiance. Then take a nice relaxing boat ride to POR and do the carriage ride. Then either Uber back to AKL or you might be able to bus back from POR to AK then to lodge. Or take the boat back to Disney Springs and enjoy a dessert or something.

Dinner at Artist's Point at WL & then take the boat to Fort Wilderness. I believe they have carriage rides & its a fun resort to explore. Artist's Point is romantic & delicious. Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon :)

I like this suggestion.

We stay at AKL on our trips but we always eat at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge one night. The resort is so pretty & the food there is great.

We haven't ever taken the carriage ride , but boating over to campground & taking a carriage ride sounds fun ... even in August.

Also, Jiko at AKL is really good. We aren't adventurous eaters either but I like it way better than Boma.

Sanaa is worth checking out for lunch one day if it works into your schedule. I'll be honest I disliked my entree of butter chicken & some type okra side... but wow ...The bread service was delicious. I hope to go at lunch another trip & just have the bread service & maybe a dessert for a meal. The bread service is huge & easily shareable for 2 people.

Have fun.

AKL is so beautiful... we spend so much time there just enjoying the resort.
