First night dinner? (Staying at CSR. Arriving at MCO at 1:00 pm.)

This is our first trip - Me, DH and DS(x2). We get in to the airport at 1:00 pm and are staying at the CSR. We have park hopper tickets to use that day. What time and where should I make dinner reservations?? Would this be a good night to do Chef Mickey's? I noticed that this is an extra magic hours night in Epcot, so should we go there?

I typically wouldn't waste a ticket not having a full day. We usually go to Ohana's, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Trails End or a dinner show for our first dinner. We usually try to have a low key day with a fun dinner.

This is probably a really stupid question...
How would we get to Whispering Canyon Cafe from CSR without a car? I really want to take the boys there.

We're coming in on a Sunday and having a 7:10 dinner at Ohana. I'd do that or maybe Chef Mickey's, personally.

I'm not a fan of WCC.

We are also going to do a partial day at the parks when we arrive on May 1 because I don't want to waste all that valuable time Since we are doing half a day at MK I decided to make ADRs at Crystal Palace for the character buffet. We will already be in MK and my youngest LOVES pooh and all his friends (not to mention the menu for the buffet looks delish ) so its a win-win for us. Then, after dinner, we are already in MK so we can continue to explore but if we are too tired, we can hop on the monorail to go back to our resort.

I think once you decide which park would work best for your crew on day 1, your dining choice will be easy. Good Luck

You can take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then a boat to the Whispering Canyon Cafe.
