First meal for first timers????

I am taking my wife and daughters to DW for the first time and we are thinking of heading to Disney springs on arrival day for supper. I think I have narrowed it down to the Rain forest cafe, T. rex or Planet Hollywood. I think those would all be places the kids would enjoy. Even though this trip is all about me I have to pretend it's all about them. Where would y'all suggest we eat.

I would not choose any of these personally. The resorts have much better dinners IMO.

I agree that the three you've chosen don't have the special Disney vibe.
I also 10000% agree that Raglan Road is great. If you choose that one, try the heavenly ham. I'm drooling thinking about it.

Another DS option that has fantastic food that should please everyone is Chef Art Smith's Homecomin. But again that all depends on age. If they're younger kids then I would say hit up a resort (Ohana has been suggested and is fantastic, plus you can stick around and watch the MK fireworks from the beach!).

If your kids are fussy eaters I would look at some of the menus in DS. The 3 restaurants are OK but there are such better eating opportunities.

I am with the other posters suggesting places you did not mention lol
I went to Rainforest Café in Nashville last weekend (only because my grandson begged to go) and it is as annoying as ever. Loud and dark and the food is not great, just ok for the prices. There are so many choices at Disney I would not go to a chain unless it was the first time I had ever seen it.

I think those 3 are pretty mediocre food-wise, so pick the one with the theme that is most appealing to you.

Unlike others, I had a bad experience at Raglan Road. I had to wait a long time after I checked in (I had a reservation) and I ended up at a table that couldn't see the dancers.

I liked the food at Homecoming. It had an adult atmosphere at 8:40 on a Thursday night.

My favorite arrival night dinner is Hoop Dee Doo. Full of Disney magic.

My family LOVES Hoop Dee Doo too. We love it to the point that we are up at 3 AM for a flight, tour the Magic Kingdom all day, and then still go to the last show of the day and love it. Like insane half asleep eating food loving it. Like the PP said, Disney Magic. Skip Disney Springs (Hi, we built you a place to spend more money!) and find the most fun resort restaurant you can. The food will be better.

We like chef mickeys for arrival day. It is a great way to start off your Disney trip. but if you are set on Disney springs I recommend rainforest cafe or T. rex.

We like to do Disney springs more towards the end of the trip because great place to get souvenirs.

We have ate at Rainforest, and it was good, but there was not a great selection for our taste. We have also ate at Kona Cafe in the Poly. It was by far our favorite meal and the scenery inside the Poly is just gorgeous!

If you really want to eat at Disney Springs we like The Boathouse. But I agree with the others a resort one is more fun and can be better food.

Depending on when you arrive at DS, you may want to walk around and check out what's there & the menus. I would be willing to bet you end up eating somewhere completely different once you get there.
