First haircut info please

We will be getting 18 month ds' first haircut in MK in 3 weeks. My poor dear is looooong overdo for his first haircut but I thought it would be worth the wait. (We've been hearing alot of "Oh SHE'S so adorable!" lately )

My questions: How much does a "first haircut" experience cost? And what would you say is the best time of day to do that? TIA!

We got my little boy's first haircut there. It was just WONDERFUL! We went about an hour or so before they closed. We had to wait, but only one of the adults actually sat inside so that my DS could be entertained right outside on Main Street. I'd say we waited about 45 minutes. (There was only one barber on at that time). It cost around $15 (plus a tip), so I'd say approx $20 total. SOOOOOOO worth it if you ask me! We got priceless pictures, a certificate saying that he got his first haircut there, a pair of Mickey ears embroidered with "First Haircut", and pixie dust sprinkled on every single one of us!

This is absolutely wonderful and I would suggest it to ANYONE going to the MK. Have fun!!

I got my daughters first haircut there on our last trip and was so glad we did. I even asked for the hair from the first cut to keep and she wrapped it up with mickey confetti sprinkled in it. Plus we got the first haircut mickey ears and a certificate. My older daughter and husband also got their haircut which was around 40something for all three. For some reason there was something different about how to pay for it. Either they didn't take our room card as payment and we had to put it on a reagular credit card or pay cash. I don't remeber. Maybe someone else here can help out. Here are a few pictures of the first haircut. The last one is the back of my husbands head, my older DD and the younger DD. Not to mention they put stickers all over them to keep them occupied. Well worth it!!

I also saved my daughter's first haircut for WDW. A woman named Billie was the only one on duty that morning, but she was just wonderful. DD got her haircut, with pixie dust and a certificate. Billie also wrapped up some of the hair for me to take home and then got out a special cape and props so we got some silly pictures in addition the the regular ones.

We did this with my son the last time we were there! He really needed a hair cut and had never been to a barbershop so they treated it like his first haircut. I was amazed at how well behaved my two year old was. The Disney Magic was very much alive in the barber shop. We did have to wait about 45 minutes to get his hair cut but, luckily it was at the same time as the parade and the parade route ends right there next to the barber shop. So, we watched the entire parade and then went right in!

They made a really big to-do and posed for all the perfect pictures! They even did Mickey sprinkles for my daughter's hair and she didn't even get her hair cut!

They only take cash at the barber shop so make sure you come prepared. His haircut was $14 dollars plus tip. We gave her about $20 and it was without question the most bang for the buck that we got in all of Disney World!

She sent us home with Mickey Ears, Certificate, a bag of Mickey Sprinkles, a ton of stickers, a lock of his hair, and countless pictures! Where else in Disney can you get that much for $20?

She tell us that the colored gel can stain the scalp and the hair. So, be careful if you want them to use the colored gel, as you might have it for a little longer than you expect!

We're doing this too with my younger DS who is very shaggy because I have been waiting to get his first haircut at MK!

Does the shop open right at 9 am along with the rest of the park?
