cast deleted, so far it's just our little family going on this trip
Actually, is 10 the magic number for a grand gathering? It sounds like it is going to be a fun trip. You will have to do the photopass CD and get lots of pictures of your group. I prepurchased mine to get a discount and if everyone chipped in, it wouldn't cost that much, think it is about $100 total. Then once you get it, just make copies of it to give to everyone.
Actually, Biergarten would be fun, and I still vote for Whispering Canyon Cafe. Both of those are loud though, well Biergarten doesn't get loud until the show starts. Oh, and I know you ruled out 50's Primetime, but it might be more fun with a large group and with other children there yours might handle it better.
We have never done the Jedi Academy Training. Just never made it, but hope to soon. Basically from what I hear, you get there early and your child may or may not be selected. It is an open stage next to Star Tours.
Sorry, can't help with the Woody Cowboy Camp. Jacob has decided he is too old for that stuff.![]()
At least you have been before. My very first trip I had to plan for ourselves, my step-daughter, mother-in-law and brother-in-law and no one gave me any ideas. I just kept hearing, "oh whatever you plan will be fine."
Hi there,
Just popped in to say 'cheerio', we head off tomorrow!
WDW here we come!!!![]()

Must sees:
Kiliminjaro Safari-I LOVED this, and I know my boys will love it too. Yup, no brainer here. Don't know anyone that doesn't like this. Just do it first thing.
Finding Nemo- the Musical-we didn't watch any of the stage shows on our honeymoon, so I'm excited to see them now with my boys, I heard this one was really good. Loved this show. Now my Jacob didn't, but he thinks he is getting too big. This from the kid that still wants toys that are made for 4 year olds.![]()
Festival of the Lion King-I saw part of this on youtube, not sure if it will hold my boys attention, but my son LOVES Lion King and the music, so what do you think?I think they will love this. I didn't like it as much as Nemo, but I was really surprised because I thought the theater was bigger, but that is the nice part, there isn't a bad seat and you are close to all the action.
Tricera top Spin-like Dumbo, right?Yup!
The Boneyard-When is the best part of the day to do this one? Is it just digging in the dirt?
When we were there in June this past year, we did this during the evening EMH. Most of the dinosaur had been dug up, but the little ones may enjoy that more because they can see what they are looking for. We only spent about 20 minutes there, if that long.
Mickey Jammin' Jungle Parade-How many parades do they do each day, is this a one time thing or do they do it twice?
I hate to admit this, but I haven't seen this. Trying to plan some day trips to see parades.
If time allows:
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail-How many animals will I see?Is this the one with Gorillas, I haven't done this either. I am due a trip to AK. Or is this the one with tigers, which I have seen and really enjoy.
Rafiki's Planet Watch (affection section)-I think the kids will really enjoy petting the animals, what else might we want to do in this area?Funny story here, I didn't get to do this. I was busy taking Jacob's picture on top of a statue of an elephant and my whole family got on the train without me and CM wouldn't let us get through real quick. The family didn't think there was much to do there, so they came back and we didn't get over there.![]()
Maharajah Jungle Trek-we didn't do this on our honeymoon, is it worth the walk?Oh, I think this is the tiger one, as I stated before, we enjoyed it.
Dinosaur-I can't remember, but I imagine too scary for a four year old even though he is tall enoughJacob doesn't like this one. Does you son like loud noises? Jacob doesn't like anything dark and really loud, or fast so EE is out for him also.
Kali River Rapids-My son is tall enough for this, my only concern is the water over the head, I can't remember, how many waterfalls are there, and how likely is it to go under it, he will freak out I think if he goes under it.This is Jacob's favorite ride. There is one drop and a couple of places where you get squirted, waterfalls etc. Jacob loves getting wet!
Expedition Everest-obviously just for the grown upsI'm excited for this one.We love this too, just wish Jacob did.
***Camp Minnie-Mickey-This is a definate do, how long on average does it take to go through the line and is it just Mickey and Minnie or other characters too?Oops can't help you on this one. We haven't done it. You may want to do the Pooh and Friends one also. I think we waited about 30 minutes or so for it. But we got some great shots and they gave us a lot of time with each character.
Food:
Tusker House -(I want to do the character meal, is it only at breakfast? I think I read that)
Flame Tree BBQ -This sounded more interested than the second, so I'm hoping for here, but with QS I think we'll do wherever we end up
Restaurantosaurus-my second choice for QS
We haven't eaten at any of these. Maybe on one of those days we go see the parade.
Ok, so a lot of questions on that one, this trip is so different from our honeymoon, on the honeymoon we didn't do any shows, looked mostly for thrill rides, and we really didn't have a plan at all. big shock coming from me I know, but I was planning a wedding, working full-time, and going to school full-time, left little time to plan the honeymoon out. I may or maynot be MIA for a few days, my mother-in-law arrives today and will be staying through until like monday or tuesday, so I'm off to clean some more.
This one is really kind of all over the place because I haven't been on most of these rides.
Here are my must sees (based on what I read):
*The Seas with Nemo and Friends (I think we did this at Disneyland, or a variation on it, it use to be the submarine ride and they changed it to Nemo)Yes, a must do. This is actually more like Haunted Mansion ride. You hop in clam shells. I want to do the Disneyland version you mentioned.
*Turtle Talk with Crush (we saw this on a tv special and it looked like fun)Haven't done this, but have heard it is great.
*Illuminations (where is the best place to see this, and how early do we have to reserve our spot?)Probably at least an hour, but anywhere around the World Showcase and you can see the lagoon is a good place. We have watched from Italy both times and enjoyed it.
*Gran Fiesta Tour starring the three Caballeros - I loved that cartoon. Is this like a small world type ride? We will be in a boat right? any drops or anything, or just slow smooth sailing? No drops here. Jacob says it is for kids and won't ride anymore.![]()
*Test Track (I realize my little ones won't be able to do this, so I'm hoping just me and hubby to ride while someone else in our party watches the kids, we didn't get to do this on our honeymoon, but we really wanted to, the line was just too long when we went)Hope you get to ride it this time. Your 3 year old might enjoy it.
Melissa, what is the ride with the Mickey shaped pumpkins? Do they have those all year, I want to do that one too. That is "The Land" I believe. It is in the same building as Soarin. I don't know if they have the MH pumpkins all year or if it is just when Halloween is close.
Here are others, time permitting:
Soarin' (I'm afraid I might get sick on this ride though, thoughts?)A must do. I'm not a big fan, but most really love it.
Journey into Imagination with Figment (what ride can you compare this to that is at MK)This gets really dark. I have only ridden it once, but I fell in love with it. Lots of surprises like air blowing in your face and loud noises.
Universe of EnergyI liked this one also. It is a 45 minute ride between the pre-show and actual ride. Also gets dark and there are dinosaurs. Jacob covered his face when it got dark.
Maelstrom (does this ride really get crowded? it says it's a fast pass ride)I haven't waited more than 10 minutes, but I guess I have been lucky. We love this ride, but there is a big drop.
Are there any shows at Epcot? Something I missed that we might want to or should definately not miss? I know the mission space ride, but I was not feeling well after that ride.
We saw the kidcot fun stops when we walked around, but didn't really study them, are they good for a 4 yo, how about a 1 yo with assistance from mom? Those would be something fun for us to do, maybe not every single one, but a few for memories and souveniers.
Food;
I'm hoping for a family gathering dinner at Biergarten (is lunch or dinner a better time for a large group like we have? I am not a big drinker but plan to drink some with my Dad, any recommendations on a drink)
Also looking at
Sunshine Seasons and Yakitori House (I am leaning toward the Yakitori since it is something different and the first sounds like any food court in a mall). Thoughts, opinions of all these eating establishments?
Ok, I'm really looking for a lot of feedback on that one, that park was a hard one to plan.
I'm really saving MK for last (because at the moment we are planning two days there, and of course with little kids, it will be the Main park), so next will be the little extras I want to do, like downtown disney and hotels to visit and restaurants in hotels that I want to try.
