First ever WDW trip

We'll be going April 15-23. And will be staying offsite. Do you think it will be very crowded because of spring break? Any major tips for a first timer?

Our first trip to WDW will be Sept,06 but I can tell you that florida and some other schools will be back in session. I know that my daughter that lives with me is on spring break right now and will go back to school April 4th. My other daughter that lives with her dad in Mississippi is back in school they had there break about a week ago. And what I see and have read that florida school are on spring break this week also and go back to school April 4th.
So I think you will be okay. But you just never know about crowds at WDW I hear that Tuesday - Friday is the best time at WDW and the 3 other parks. But Saturday - Monday it can be crowded.

The last time we went in April, the crowds were moderate. We usually go in off-season so it seemed a bit crowded for our taste, but it was tolerable and we still had a great time. We must have because we're going back in a couple of weeks . If you're worried about getting the most out of your time, I highly recommend getting a book with some touring plans like the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, or The Passporter. We have used both books and thought they really helped. There is also an online resource (you pay for the plans and I think they may even be more personalized just for you) but I have only heard of them and don't remember their url's right now. If you do a search I'm sure you'll come up with some info about that.

Colleges have spring breaks in march. School's may be on vacation so it mite be somewhat busy, but at least it's not hot. With proper planning you can always have a great time.

We just returned. Since you will be offsite my only advice is to arrive when the gates open. We took advantaage of the EMH quite a bit. Crowd levels were extremely high but if you plan, you'll be fine.

My wife and I are AP holders and go to WDW this time of year about every weekend Thur thru Sat. Make a plan for each day and stick to it, however, things can change because of weather and the unforseen, so be flexible. We also have AP at Sea World and Busch Gardens and we just bounce from park to park when the need arrises along with park hopping at Disney and we have a great visit every time we go over. At MK, there will be big crowds, no getting around that, so don't try to do everything the first day and please don't play the "game" of a good or bad time to arrive or you will get frustrated with your decisions. Hope you enjoy and you tell everyone how it turned out.

Definitely buy a guide book and plan where to go and how to tackle each park. You will get so much more from your trip if you do a bit of planning before hand.

My best advice is to be at the park 1/2 hour before the gates open, have a plan for which attractions you want to get done first, and use FASTPASS. Do research so you'll know which rides have the FASTPASS feature. If you are among the first to arrive in the park, you can get a lot done.
