First Ever TR, Anniversary and F&WF, October 2010

So I learned a long time ago when David and I were dating that it was NOT a good idea for us to play Put Put Golf. We are way too competitive in anything related to sports, so I always just keep score.

here is my Lefty...

Well over night I noticed that my tag changed from Mouseketeer to DIS Veteran. How did that happen? But I am excited.

Maybe one of these day I will get something from the Tag Fairy :confused3

Well my DH just surprised me with a trip to NYC on Dec 6th, for 3 days....
He even got DVC tickets to see the Lion King on Broadway.

I am so excited. I have been to NYC before but always as a day trip, never to spend the night and never in Winter.

This is going to be amazing, to see Rockefeller Center dressed up for Christmas and the Tree all light up. T see the amazing windows all decked out for the holidays.

This is going to be wonderful!

Oh and did I mention that the tickets for Lion King are 3rd row center........:lovestruc :worship:

ok ok I have to calm down.

That is AWESOME! You will have such a great time :cool1:
I took my daughter to NYC for the second time earlier this summer and it was incredible. I'm jealous! What a great hubby :lovestruc

Your daughter is gorgeous. How funny that she's 17 and only now interested in driving! :car: I guess it's different when you live in the city ;)

Too cute about your husband and his competitive putt putt :rotfl:

How are your AKL plans coming along?

Is your cruise before, after or in the middle of your AKL/AKV stay?

He is pretty awesome... Took me long enough to find him so he is going no where! He spoils me and I love it.

There is so much public transportation around here you can get almost anywhere and never drive. Which can be good or bad. but I love it b/c I hate the traffic.

I learned back when we were dating to never play a game with him. We can't even play cards or bingo, he hates to lose and I love to bet him! So it makes for a dangerous combo. He is even worse at bowling! :confused3

How are your AKL plans coming along?
With the back to school plans and senior pictures and oldest son graduating college, I have no had much time to work on the AKL plans. I am hoping that the seminar and demo schedule for food and wine festival comes out soon so I can make those plans. We both want to do a couple of things but the world will not stop if we don't get them.

Is your cruise before, after or in the middle of your AKL/AKV stay?
The cruise is after WDW, I was hoping that we could have arranged it to be after the cruise but our schedule was already getting things to do in it, so many people plan far in advance that we had to go to WDW first. We are renting a car there on property and driving down to Ft Lauderdale and boarding the cruise then flying back from Ft Lauderdale.

Only 50 days left until I am back at AKL.......:yay:

Morning everyone,

Well today is a good day on my countdown clock, only 49 days left for me before vacation time starts!!!!!!

David and I went to the Chesapeake Crab and Beer Festival this past Saturday at the National Harbour and it was amazing. We had more fun than we should have, but I was the DD for the days events, which was a big change for us....:D So I thought David was so funny! The chilled Tequila Bar is what really got him. Here is the link to the Festival http://mdcrabfest.com/

I forgot my camera so the only pictures I have are from his phone... Which aren't very good, but better than nothing.

Only 49 days until the Food and Wine Festival, Mickey here I come!

My DH and I just had dinner at a seafood restaurant in Northern Maryland. It takes too long to eat crabs that way. I had two delicious, fried crab cakes (blue claw).

Kathy

I agree totally.... I always buy lump crab in the can and make our cakes....
Or get the fried soft shell.

Much easier, but this time that was the only way the crabs came, I gave up after 10 crabs, so DH keep picking for me...

Last year was our first food and wine and we just kinda showed up and did one beverage demo, with Makers Mark, and we had a fabulous time. We ate all around the world and tried some wonderful items.

So we could not wait to book again to come back, and we have already booked to come back next year. We just enjoy this adult time for us.

You should try and make it back to F&W.....

I will bring back tons and tons of pictures...

I grew up on the eastern shore, and your pictures of picking crabs are making me drool!! I fly home every summer to pick crabs, they are so delicious. I also love your pics of Camden Yards, such a pretty ballpark. The F&W Festival was going on during our honeymoon last year and we had a great time wandering around and sampling foods. You will definitely enjoy it! :goodvibes

we were there for our anniversary, it is Oct 1st and will be 4 years this year.

Congrats on being newlyweds!

I am not originally from Maryland, I am here for DH. He has been here 17 years, moved here after he got out of the Army. I have been here for 6 years, but it is growing on me. Last winter when we had the back to back blizzards, we were in the Caribbean, so I joke with him that, the trip bought him some more time to get me out of here and back to the south, so he booked us another trip this coming Feb.:woohoo:

Picking crabs is not my favorite thing, but he picks enough for both of us, except at this festival, I had to pick my own......:sad2:

I love crab legs... Being from Michigan all we get are frozen.. :sad1:

I have enjoyed reading your PTR and really can't wait to meet you in person now. Your trip is a dream trip of mine.. :cloud9:

Thanks for the comments on the PTR.

I LOVE crab legs and Lump Crab meat and crab cakes, just about anything with the meat of the crab in it, I just HATE picking them....

Seriously, if my DH would not pick them for me and feed me, I would hardly ever have any!....He is just too good to me. Granted I like being spoiled.

Brandi

Well DH and I decided to do a B'More Beer Week event right before heading down to WDW.

Thursday Oct 7, 2010 6-8pm

Join us in celebrating all things beer in the land of pleasant living at the 2010 Baltimore Beer Week Opening Tap Party!

The highlight of this event will be the celebrity tapping of the First Firkin provided by our Flagship Sponsor. This special firkin of Heavy Seas Loose Cannon will be the same recipe which won the 2010 Great British Beer Fest CAMRA award. Boog Powell will pass the 'Star Spangled Banger' over to Duff Goldman of Ace of Cakes. Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet founders, brewers, pub owners and pioneers of the craft beer movement.

Enjoy beer tastings from our sponsors, including hard to find beers and special releases, all served in a keepsake commemorative glass. Attendees will also receive a special Baltimore Beer Week Passport Book. Tapas provided by Mother's of Federal Hill.

For those of you who don't know Boog Powell is a famous Baseball player who played with the Baltimore Orioles, during the glory years.... Duff Goldman is a chef and owner of Ace of Cakes as seen on the food network... Duff also created my wedding Cake and Grooms Cake in 2006. We are excited about going.... Kick off to Food and Wine.

I know my PTR has turned into all the things we are doing leading up to our trip to AKL.

For some reason, we are very active people. We always have to be going and seeing and doing... hope everyone is ok with all of this...... I am :)

Brandi do you have a pic of your wedding cake? I'd love to see it..

We are like you guys we are always on the go.. I had one mom from school (my dd5's friends mom) tell people that I lied to her and just wanted to avoid her because I was gone all summer.. :rotfl: Another mom said... "um are you friends with her on fb? she WAS gone all summer" :rotfl: I never got to travel at all as a kid. So I have many years to make up for.

What day are you arriving on your trip? I think its the day we are leaving.. :sad1:

Here is a picture of us on our wedding day...... we got married on a yacht out in the Chesapeake Bay, she was 100 foot long and 3 stories above water... We had so much fun...The captain married us.

Here are the cakes... My colors were White, Black, Burgundy and silver.
So we went with a black wedding cake, and the design matches the design on my dress in edible silver paint. The grooms cake was a Texas A&M Bone fire cake complete with an outhouse on top, we even set it on fire and then ate it.

We arrive on the 12th around noon, when are you leaving?:scared1:
