Have a great time Tracy! You will be missed and you will come back to probably 100 pages.....![]()
so here's another cruise related question- what time are most folks planning to leave the Dolphin/Orlando for the port (if you have a car)? 10am? 9am? Is there a caravan?
I usually don't disclose this information. I have been to the port as early as 7:30 am and wait outside for the doors to open. The rental companies will drop you off that early, so will town cars. You cannot get into the building until 10:00 am. Check in doesn't begin until 10:30 am.
I have a question that I figured all you DCL veterans can help me with. I am going to be flying into Orlando on Saturday May 9th and will have a rental car from Budget. I was looking at ways to get to the port and came up with 3 options.
I could return the car to Orlando Airport and take DCL transportation to the port from the airport.
I could return the car to Melbourne airport and just take a taxi to the port. It is about 30 miles.
I could return the car to the Cape Canaveral office of Budget and take the taxi to the port, it is only about 3 miles. The only reason I would even think about the second option over this one is Im not sure how easy it will be to get a taxi at this location to the port. Of the 3 options this one is the one that makes the most sense to me.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Budget does have a shuttle to the port. Didn't I say this before?
If you need to make any Spa reservation or make adjustments to you dinning time, do it as soon as you board the ship. The CM will direct you where to go. Once on board, we typically head to lunch. I am not sure what will be available on the Wonder for lunch. I am certain the buffet will be and perhaps on of the dinning rooms (Parrot Cay?). If you are travelling with kids, either have them wear their swim suits or bring then in your carryon. It's a great time to use the pools. This is also a great time to explore the ship.
Pools, explore, lunch, drinks, lunch... The time goes quickly and rooms are ready approximately 1 or 1:30.
Port opens at 10:00. Inner parking lot where you would drop your luggage curbside opens at 10:00. Outer parking lot where they make you wait until they let you in the inner lot opens around 9:30 or even earlier.
You can check in as soon as you arrive (if at 10:00 or later). Boarding starts anytime after 11:45 or so, so technically you can be onboard as early as about 12:00 if the ship is ready on time. There is no set time for each boarding number. As soon as one bunch of people are boarded from a boarding number then they call the next number.
Just ask on the cruise thread, they were quick![]()
Technically, boarding doesn't officially begin until 1:00 pm, however, when the ship is ready, they start boarding.
Taking lessons from Tracy?
Hey!!!
