can someone fill me in on the trip to Atlantis?

i saw that they have a large aquarium with all day passes to and was thinking about going but how do we get there?

is this a trip that's planned by disney and therefore they would have transportation or do we have to do that ourselves?

anyone been there? is it nice?

We've done this. If you do it though Disney, obviously they will worry about the transport. If you do it on your own, there are taxis everywhere when you get off the ship. You can walk, but it is a little far if you're not a walker. The resort itself is beautiful. I enjoyed the aquarium very much. It is, however, at leat in my opinion, very expensive. If you go over to the cruise board here, many people talk about renting rooms at inexpensive hotels that have allowed access to Atlantis. Apparently this is a much cheaper way to go. HTH

Phew! Homestudy update visit is done! Pretty painless overall. Just checking to see what's new with us and to share information regarding the program. I think DH and I are going to submit our paperwork for our agency's special needs program soon. This wait is just getting longer and longer and i'm not sure how much my heart can take. :guilty: So hopefully, either things will speed up or we'll be matched to a child with minor special needs soon!

I've already decided that our first trip as a family will be to WDW during the holidays. What a better way to introduce her to the DIS than to introduce her through MF! :lmao: Poor kid...has no idea what's in store for her...

I was just there on Saturday. We took a taxi for $4.00 a person to Atlantis. When you enter go down stairs and to the left and they have a desk where you can buy different packages. We did just the aquarium for $35.00. They have a package for $110.00 that includes all of the pools and slides, the beach and chairs, and aquarium. We walked all around the resort and hung out at one of the pools.
Here are a few pictures.

Are you taking a towncar to the port? I looked at it seems like the pick up from AKL is late. I am trying to get all my stuff together before I present it to my DH tonight.

ETA:

Don, do you still have room in your limo? Did you get the limo?

Haven't gotten the limo yet, but am 99 percent sure I will...If/when I do I should have room for 2.

I'm very much looking forward to the cruise, as is the rest of my family. However, I'm so stressed out about the transportation part. I just can't decide what to do. I'm not sure if it's because we normally use ME, and we don't have to figure transportation out. One minute I've decided to get a towncar. One minute, I've decided to try to share and that doesn't work out. The next minute I've decided just to rent a car. Then I think I should just stay at a Disney resort so that we can use ME. I'm being very indecisive, and DH is no help. He's fine with whatever. I want the most cost effective, without being a hassle. It's really something that should be quite simple, but it's not.

Hey now...we'll share transportation from the Dolphin to the Port and back!!! Breathe...stop hyperventilating! ;) :goodvibes

They had a 50% off sale last year up until Dec 22 for flights right up until November of this year. Haven't seen them do that before! I booked these flights and our flights to Seattle for our Alaska cruise in August.

HOW did you get this rate from Air Canada??????

We are flying SW out of Buffalo.

We are three. I guess that won't work. I want to get there really early too. I guess if I get first dining before we sail it doesn't matter as much. Might see you at AKV though.

I feel exactly the same way. I think I have decided we will stay onsite. Of course the one and only time we took ME my husband said he didn't like. Now he says he doesn't want to rent a car. :confused3

So I brought up the cruise to my mom and aunt over lunch the other day.:scared:

After the initial overly pregnant pause whilst eating, they seemed alright with it. Yesterday though, mom started asking questions.:crazy2:

The when and where questions were easily answered, which she then understood the why. But when she asked who I was going with...she looked at me as if I sprouted a third ear on my forehead. She took a breath and then said, when I was in Nassau we went to Atlantis and toured the grounds and aquarium. That's what I would do if I were you. And go on the tour of the city.:rolleyes2 :rolleyes2 Whew. :bitelip:

ETA: It was -11°F :cold: when I left my house this morning. Windchill put it below -30°F.:cold: 400+ public school districts and private school systems in the Metro Detroit area were closed due to the temperatures. :cold:

Most of my family have the Disney gene, so they at least get why I want to go to WDW so much. But they don't quite get the DIS...that's alright...I like having my safe haven, so to speak!

The smileys are confusing me! I gotta look carefully before I click now! :upsidedow But I am happy to see some that I use frequently on the list! Now I don't have to open the More Window for them! :hyper:

It is -8 right now in Pittsburgh. My class at the Y was canceled this morning, and my son preschool was canceled this afternoon. My entire day I have planned is suddenly unplanned. I am sitting here with no idea of what to do with myself all day.
