I'm not so sure that my (real) DH and my DIS DH should be in the same room together...could be awkward!! ;) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I do have the affect on people, I create feeling that they themselves don't understand....kaachow....

:thumbsup2

After dinner or early am?

Be careful about doing it in the AM. I seem to remember some restrictions about purchasing liquor on Sundays in Florida. At least at the ABC by VistaWay.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (South of DTD on 535, next to Walgreens, by Wendy's)

I think we need details.....

From a friend in the sunshine state:
"Sales of alcoholic beverages in Florida are regulated by the state, the counties and by municipalities.

Each city and county sets their own days and hours of sales, and they vary -- sometimes wildly -- by location.

In Florida, hard liquor, or spirits, sales must be maintained separately from a grocery store or any other retail outlet, as is done at many Albertson's that sell hard liquor.

In Orlando, since you asked specifically, Costco does sell spirits at its Altamonte store. They do not at the UCF area store. I am not sure of their third location here.

I think the issue of chilled wine and beer sales also varies by store and location. Many if not all the supermarkets and ABC-brand stores I frequent carry chilled beer and wine, however sometimes it is in a separate location than the shelved product."

Maybe the great AskKevin/AskJohn/AskWill/AskCorey could share with us if that answer is correct.

Hope that helps. Like I said before I think the ABC Store by DTD doesn't sell before noon on Sunday.

As for the college program stories....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Pete, I wouldn't mind having my entire cruise booked up by you guys!!

PETE STOP TELLING US THINGS AND THEN SAYING YOU CAN"T SAY ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!

IT IS HORRIBLE! You are such a teaser

But we love you anyway <3

DITTO!

Everytime they said that we would be sick of them by the time the cruise was over, I kept thinking... No way! This cruise is going to be so fun and I am so grateful for all that is going into this cruise, that I booked my post cruise stay at the S/D. I just wanted to do my small part in making sure that the execs over at the S/D know that we appreciate their sponsorship for MouseFest and the incredible room rates they are offering the Podcast Cruisers.

Yupperroo! aGoofyMom is betwixt us and calypso*a*go-go is pretty much right across the hall from you!

I am lucky enough to have a huge-o-mungous printer/plotter at work and printed out HUGE deck plans off of DU's website. So I don't need to scroll or squint. I'm going to start penciling in people in January, so I have a better idea as to where people are on the ship.

AskTracy....
Question
When do we find out what our dining rotation and times are?

I'm certainly not AskTracy, but I'll answer because we've done DCL twice before. You won't know your rotation until you get onboard. I think you don't actually know your late/early seating for sure until you get on board either. It's on a card you get. You used to not get that card until you got into your stateroom. That may have changed.

for those podcast folks who are doing a pre=cruise at the dolphin. How are you getting to the port on Sunday?? I just booked a car rental saturday may 9th to sunday may 10. and then on may 14th going back to orlando airport
it came to $123.73 I think that is really high even with a code from mousesavers. does anyone know anyother car rentals that will drop you off at the pier for free and that would be a little cheaper?? how much does
disney cruise ship charge to drop you off at the ship does anyone know??

I reserved a car w/Alamo from 5/7 - 5/14 for $180 including all taxes/fees
We always rent a car when we are at wdw. I know we will have to pay the $15/day to park at the port, but, for us it's worth it. I believe it is $35/per person each way to go to the ship and to come back to the airport

I've been pricing out rentals as well, even while staying at the Dolphin pre-cruise. I want to have some freedom to drive around property, visit the outside of my former College Program housing complex, and be able to stop at a store (:drinking1 :rolleyes1 :upsidedow ) or two. We plan on driving down in the morning. I haven't priced out which is more affordable, to pick up the car on Saturday @ MCO drop it off at the rental company's port location and do the reverse on the way back, or to get it for the week and pay the parking charges at the port. {Hoping we can swing the extra couple nights post-cruise and attend the P & P Party that is scheduled.}

I almost missed that! I may have to extend my post cruise stay by a day now. Hmmmmm...

Definately good that I can't book my return flight yet!

I may ride with friends...however, since I'm arriving on the 8th, I rented a car for the 8th and 9th through Budget, with a drop-off in Cape Canaveral on the 10th. It'll cost me $62. I'll figure another way to get to the airport when we get back.
