Not hate....just intense dislike and severe lack of trust. The animal shelter is what popped into my head when I read volunteer. He loves people with four legs.

I have something that is totally (not that there is much in this thread on topic....)

As of today, we become a single income household. DP is worried about being a mooch and feeling useless. Does anybody have anything I can tell him or have him do that won't make him feel like that? I have a short list of odd jobs around the house, but that will only last so long....

This is a tough one. DH has suffered through 2 rounds of my being the sole bread-winner. I can't really suggest much. I know I tried to be more aware of what he did around the house, and I really made sure to let him know I was aware of what he was doing around the house, and how I appreciated it.

Of course during the first round, we were also doing a planned move into cheaper digs. Guess who got to do all the packing & moving? I left for work from one address and had to remember to drive home to the other one.

If he loves dogs I'm sure you could find something along those lines...

You know, Todd, maybe DP could think about starting a dog-care/dog-walking business. Put up some cards in grocery stores and veterinary hospitals and such.

Right now, its about 50 - but it's a damp 50 so it feels much, much colder. And it's actually supposed to drop down into the 30s this weekend and next week!!

The local news last night said its been the harshest winter since the 1920's around here, between the amount of snowfall and the constant low temperatures.
