WOO HOO. I made my final payment. Just have to wait for Judy to make hers and we are free and clear. And I can make reservations for the things I want to do on the 23rd or 24th, I can't remember which is the 75 day mark. I will check.

Anne is right, it is raining and yucky here today. My back yard is now a swamp from all the melted snow and ice that can't sink into the ground because it is frozen. Another six weeks of yuck and that light at the end of the winter tunnel will be really bright.

3 months from this moment WE WILL ALL BE ON THE SHIP.

Does anyone else wonder what Pete must be thinking reading these five threads?

Yeah!!
He's probably wondering what he did. :scared1:
Now he's probably trying to figure out a plan to hide from all the crazy people.

The summer is tough. We hit the parks in the morning, spend the afternoons at our DVC resort, and then hit the parks in the evening. The mornings and evenings are still hot. Taking the parks a little at a time is the best way to avoid heat exhaustion and fatigue. But the puddles do help cool off.

It is hot and muggy, be we have had some fantastic times in the summer. We just go slow, eat nice long sit down meals, hit some rides, eat, ride, snack, ride, break...etc! Ohh..then we eat!

The only time that I tend to feel the motion is at night (usually goes faster at night) and oddly enough, when i'm in a bathroom. I have no idea why...that was the only time I noticed the motion on my last cruise until that last day. It was weird. My mom's said the same thing...she only notices when she's in the bathroom too..weird...lol

I felt worse once we got off the ship. We stopped at a gas station and I went into the bathroom and I almost fell over. I was like this for several days and it was always worse in the bathroom. I think it is the enclosed spaces.

On our cruise in November the first night was really, really rough. We were at dinner and our son proclaims his stomach hurts. I almost broke into tears because he is really too young to take the kids Bonine. Well, he was asleep in 5 minutes so that was obviously the problem. I thought for sure we were going to have 3 days of sick kid on our hands.

It's been years since i've been there in middle of summer. I went once with some girlfriends in July. What a scorcher!!!

My favorite times to go to WDW are May, September, and December!

It is going to be 3 month before I can step in my yard without sinking. Or about the time we get to go on the cruise.

Congrats on the final payment.:cheer2:

Never before Memorial Day! Fashion police, fashion police!!

I don't know why, but that's one of the strongest memories of my childhood; my mom explaining to me never to wear white before summer.

Don't you watch Stacy? Those rules are so last decade! :rotfl2:

I got the patches for DH and I but the kids are too young for that.
So for my DS11 I got these anti nausa wrist bands that is what the Pharmacist recommended.
As for DS who will be 6 gravol was all she could recomend.
Now I have heard people say the wristbands and Gravol don't work,
so I am hoping to find something when we get to Florida that I can give to the children.
They will be 11 and 6 at that time.
If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated! :thumbsup2

Children's Bonine says it is for children 6 and older. I know they have it at our local Walmart. It's over the counter.

Well I just thought I would say talk to you later.
Lunch time
More :laundy: and housecleaning to be done.
Then it's off to take DS11 to school.
Should be back later this afternoon.

Dr. Ruth was just on the Today Show. She was telling some of her Top 10 Secrets. She says we should buy ice-cream cones and practice. There is just something wrong with getting advice from someone who's got to be pushing 90.

Man, I love that lady!!

I'll bet money he hasn't read one.:rotfl2:

For all of the potentially queasy cruisers - I have one word for you: BONINE!

200.jpg

It's an over the counter, chewable, daily, non-drowsy, motion sickness preventative.

Both DH and I are prone to motion sickness. We start taking this little miracle pill every morning about 5 days prior to the cruise. Keep taking it every morning on the cruise and take it for a few days afterward (until you get your sea legs back - you can actually be a little wobbly after you get off the ship - DH gets this more than I do).

It really, really helps. The best solution to sea sickness is to never get sick in the first place. If you allow yourself to get sick, then you're fighting an uphill battle.

The first night out, as the ship cruises away from Florida, it is usually a little bumpy. Something about the currents that run parallel to the coast and the fact that the ship is traveling pretty quickly. If you're susceptible, you may also notice that you may feel the ship's motion in certain areas of the ship more than others. I find that I am more aware of that motion in the theater where the shows are and in Parrot Cay.

You'll be fine. If you feel yourself beginning to feel sick, make sure you get out on deck and get some fresh air. The wind on your face. It helps me to be able to see the horizon too - but that may not be the same for everyone.

Edited to add: I was posting at the same time as Brandie! Similar guidance from us both!

I was just going to say that. I think its better than Dramamine, worked great for my family on the last cruise.

What has me puzzled is why you don't take any time to eat. :scared1:

Hmmmmmm....maybe that's HOW she got to be 90!!
