First Ever DISUnplugged Podcast Cruise Eight is Enough, more than enough

Hi Everyone -- don't post a whole lot but am really looking forward to this cruise. My job has been so-so for the last year and on Monday I was laid off/fired/terminated whatever..... The sick part about it is that at this point I have to work through my notice period which is 8 months -- yup I get the joy of coming into work for another 8 months. I'm not supposed to say anything to anyone so I guess I'm supposed to keep smiling as well.

They are allowing me to have vacation time and since the cruise is paid for we'll be going but now I'm looking forward to it even more -- 2 weeks without having to pretend is going to be such a relief.

The days can't be short enough for me.

I know everyone doesn't want to be sitting around waiting to board the ship but figure if you want to get there later, there is always DCL transfers.

Okay, maybe the people that arn't on the Podcast Cruise but just on a 4 night cruise..... ()those poor people )

Oh we are so sorry to hear this!
On the upside John says at least this gives you the chance to go find another job before this one is up.
There's nothing worse than hating where you work.
We still have to get together.
We haven't forgot.

We haven't decided anything yet. I'm not totally unhappy about it because I haven't been happy here for a while but it does put a crimp into things.

I actually get to go see an umemployment lawyer tomorrow to find out some stuff so we'll see after that.

Timing sucks but it will work out. Heck all I need is a green card and I can go work for Disney.

8 months is a long time. I am glad they let you keep your vacation. I am sure it will be a nice break.

I'm sorry to hear this.
It must be awefull to go in the next 8 monts and work there.
But you have your 2 weeks off and you are going to enjoy that 100% and everytime after the vacation that you are on your work and have a bad moment just think back at this wonderfull vacation that even at this point still has to begin....

well just finished cleaning up a nice pile of puke! My son decided to puke everywhere just before going to bed. lovely. I am always amazed at the amount of puke that can come out of a baby or toddler.
