First Ever DISUnplugged Podcast Cruise, 11th and Final Thread

Also, COOKIES - YUCK they are just too everyday. There is a grocery store near me - Ukrops that makes the best cake with a whipped cream icing - that is yummy, yummy.

Now, before you go bashing cookies...what about lofthouse!!

Don't forget hurting feet from having to wear red sparkley heels the entire trip!

My flattie will have sensible shoes!

Maybe you can make sparkly Crocs for your flattie? Can't totally ignore fashion for comfort. :confused3

Tonya, I love it! :thumbsup2

I can take no credit for it other than copying it, uploading it to photobucket, and posting it. Thanks go to the DISigners Board!! (But I think this is an actual magnet that DCL uses for something - I could be wrong though.)

I was afraid this was going to happen. After the news tonight (Swine Flu #1 story) DH started voicing his doubts about the advisability of going on a cruise during a flu epidemic. Anybody else having second thoughts? I'm thinking I could stay home and catch the flu anyway and not have any fun. So I might as well go, right?;)

I'm pretty sure that the Dolphin does, but absolutely the ship does.

(This may have already been said on one of the previous 10 threads) :confused3

One tip our cabin steward told us on my last cruise was that you didn't need to use your KTTW card to lock your safe, you could use any card with a magnetic strip. Which turns out to be good because you need to use the same magnetic stripped card to lock and unlock the safe - and if you use someone's KTTW card to lock the safe you need their card to be available to unlock it and they might be on land when you need to get into the safe. We ended up using a grocery store card and just put it one of the draws amongst some socks or something.

Is the safe big enough for a lap top?

Thanks,
Don

I would say no. The new ones on the Magic will fit a small one, but I don't think the Wonder's have been changed yet.

Anywhere you go you could be exposed. The press has escalated this much higher than it should be. The Wonder does NOT go to Mexico. You are exposed just as much anywhere else. Just use common sense - wash your hands frequently, don't be kissing Todd or Don (sorry boys) and drink lots (to kill the germs LOL).

We always used a Starbuck's card and put it in our sock drawer. On the Magic however, they have changed the safes and you don't need to have a magnetic strip to open and close the safe. You use a code now.

The only way it is going to stop me is if I get sick before the cruise.

I don't like the code ones. My son locked some of our stuff in the safe in our hotel in Las Vegas. First thing we do now in a hotel is lock the safe so that can't happen again. It was really embrassing.

Missed another thread closing. :sad2: Why am I never around when that happens. I think I made it to one or two. Oh well.

Anyway, I had 2 fantastic clothes shopping days with DD11. We found her several tops and capris/bermudas that she would wear. Also got her about 6 pairs of new shoes (mostly flip-flop styles). We actually had a pretty good time. There were only one or two stressful moments when she wouldn't cooperate but they were short lived and we were soon back in the shopping groove again. We found some great shoes for Pirate Night. We'll be matching! Wish I could have gotten a costume but there just wasn't enough money or time in the end. It's the only thing I decided to do without. Hopefully find something piratey while we're in Orlando next week. If not, I have a t-shirt with pirate flags on the back, some jeans and my new pirate bling shoes.

Lori, about that welcome wagon..... :scared:.

I was wondering about the flu thing too. What do they do if there's an outbreak onboard? I can think of no other place I would rather be quaratined. Seriously though, would they make everyone stay in their stateroom or what?
:confused3

Hi, I am now caught up.
I have had a very busy day.
So here goes.
Alicia, loved your poster for the muddy buddy.:thumbsup2
Brandie, congrats on the grade, I had faith you could do it. :cheer2:
Dara, don't be nervous, I'll hold your other hand. :)
I am packing tonight and tomorrow morning.
Hoping to have the bulk of the packing done tomorrow, except for the last minute stuff.
Will make a list of stuff I am not packing as I go.
The time is flying by.
I can't believe it.. 7 days, 12 hours to go!!! :woohoo::yay::yay::woohoo:

Posting is tough on my BlackBerry (St. Louis airport) but I had to pop in and say hi! :wave2:

I HATE the St Louis Airport. It is so icky and boring compared to others I have been too. If you ever make it back to STL let Jackie and I know. We will be your welcoming commitee. LOL

Becky

Geez, missed another thread closing :scared: Oh, well!!

I took my anatomy lab final this afternoon. It wasn't too bad but the cats totally confused me!! I still think I got an A though so that's good!!

Cats like to confuse people - it's their nature...

Good job though! :thumbsup2

I know I haven't posted much on this thread, but I am so excited to go on the cruise, and can hardly wait to meet you all in person!

I've got
butterflies_different_colors_lg_clr.gif

I love this picture - I am sooooo gonna email it to my supervisor! She is afraid of butterflies!

As for the flu stuff - we are being very vigilant in hand washing, but I am not worried about this trip. We have DD convinced she needs to get a proper round of "happy birthday" EVERY time she washes her hands - ok at least if we are within ear shot.;) I do have a couple of procedural masks in my purse - maybe I should grab a couple more?! :rolleyes1
no - don't bother going there - we have a family member going through chemo so I travel with masks in my purse in case we can visit - we have allergies and tend to sneeze in the spring.

Hey Becky! Are you and your sister getting excited?

I bought new dress shoes tonight for the cruise. Oh, and one of those over the door shoe holder thingies.
