Just got back from my first DVC trip, and I am thrilled.
Best thing that could have happened was on the first day, my wife turned to me and said,
"I am so glad we bought DVC!"
I felt so proud that I browbeat ang badgered her into buying in!
4 nights at VWL and 2 nights at BCV, I own at SSR. VWL was booked at 7 months, BCV came through on a waitlist in late May.
Dedicated 2BR at VWL was great, great condition, early check in (2PM), 2nd floor 2 units from the pool. To be on vacation with 3 adults and 3 kids and not feel cramped was great. Did not love the themeing and the boat transportation was not the most convienent (hated going to FW after 3) but, it beats driving.
Lock off 2BR at BCV was nice. Was more impressed with BCV as a resort, it is great. Boat to MGM was quick, walk to Epcot was even quicker. SAB was great. Late check in, not ready till around 4:30. I waited from 1:30 to about 3 and then just left for MGM and got my stuff at midnight that night. was in a 5th floor lock-off with a gorgeous view of the Epcot SE and Canada.. and the Soarin' Barn. (Soarin was awsome BTW, but the building is just plain unsightly)
Oh yeah, word of advice. if you have a lock-off and and crazy door shutting 2-year old, be careful not to use the slide bolt on the studio door! Had to pull some Macguver like tactics with a belt, a curtain rod, and my 6 year old niece to open the adjoining door.
Honorable mention to WeGoShop in Orlando, who was able to fill my grocery order in under 3 hours from order to delivery, and did everything great. Was planning on going shopping when I got there, but I just didn't feel up to it, so I called and they delivered.
Free valet parking rules.
Cant wait to go back in November (OKW and SSR - Battle of the dedicated DVC WDW resorts). It sure is going to suck having to stay in a regular hotel room again, because having all that space spoiled us.
