havent been since I was 16! My lovely wife has never been. Planning on staying at DGCHV's. I am sure to have many questions. Hoping to find the answers to many of them here on the Dis!

Wow! Needless to say, much has changed in 34 years. Start by reading the stickys at the top of the Disneyland forum, then fire away with your questions. Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

Sorry to tell you the PeopleMover, Mine Train, Country Bears, America Sings, and Adventures Through Inner Space are gone. So is the Skyway, and the hole in Matterhorn has been puttied up. Fantasyland has been shuffled a bit, and there's a new land behind where the Fantasyland train station used to be. The old parking lot is gone too. But there's lots of new stuff - you'll have a grand time.

Same here! Last trip was in 1978, also when I was 16. I wish I could remember more from that trip to compare when I bring my daughter next year, but it seems so long ago!

Hi Squid!! :wave2:

I've been stalking this section of the board for weeks - learned a ton!

4 weeks from today I'll be back at DL for my first time in 23 years! Can't wait!

The Skyway is gone! :scared1: Honestly, I barely remember much of that trip , other than POTC, the Matterhorn and the Submarines.

..and taking out the Peoplemover..huge mistake. The Rocket Rods were ok, just HUGE lines and constant break down and about a 1 minute trip...and it lasted open about 1 minute too before they took it out. Now..nothing...

Here is a link to a thread that gets lots of mileage around here!

"A DLR Guide for WDW Vets" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Definitely read Hydroguy's "DLR for the WDW Vet" Guide....(twice ;))

& the rest of his tip threads are helpful as well:

HydroGuy DLR Tips Compilation: www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

I also spent 40 years in the wilderness between DL visits (mid 60s - 2007)....the things that are the same are great, & the changes (& additions) that have been made......are fantastic. :)

Have a fun time planning a return visit to Walt's Park. :cool1:

:)

Indeed! The person you saw getting in line for Peter Pan the last time you were there is now at the front! ;-).

Seriously, all the best for your trip. I'd be surprised if it was anything less than fantastic. Enjoy!
