I need recommendations for hotels? Inexpensive but good quality. Some of the reviews I have read on expedia are scaring me!!:scared1:

We just got back from a 5 night stay at the BWPPI. Our room had 2 queens and a sleeper sofa. Probably wouldnt recommend the sofa for adults but for kids it is just fine.
In my opinion it is just a little bit rough around the edges but it was very clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the location. I would definitely stay there again.
With no car (they have a parking fee) and the Best Western Rewards program it was $105 before taxes.

I have stayed at Park Vue Inn with 5 kids- free bkfst, light supper and CLOSE to the the parks. They have a suite with 2Q pull out sofa and a small kitchenette. We stayed 8 days last summer. A-OK. Also have stayed at Homewood for same sleeping arrangement for 9 days. Needed to take ART so travel time to and from park was longer. Better breakfast and supper Mon-Thurs only. Nicer rooms but farther away. With larger famiy, hotels with bkfst and dinner really help the food budget. We also ordered in groceries from Vons at both hotels.

Last year we stayed at La Quinta in the family suite. It had two queens and a separate room with bunks. The kids all fit into the bunks and had a great time. We needed to use the ART to get to the parks but that was not too bad. This year we are staying at the Park Vue Inn. I have heard good things about this place so we will have to see what we think of it once we get there.

We have stayed in one of the suites at the Carousel Inn and Suites. (about 3 years ago)The suite we were in had 3 queen beds-one in a separate bedroom, one in the room as you enter the suite, and one in a cove off of the seating area. There was a sofa in there, but not sure if it folded out-we only needed the 3 beds.

It was very clean, beds were SUPER comfy-nice pillowtop mattresses and comforters.
We are staying in their regular room in about a month, I can update regarding the hotel when we return, if needed

I like the BWPPI. I had a room with a king sized bed and a sofa bed. They also have rooms with 2 queen beds and the sofa bed. It's right across from the entrance to DL/DCA.

They offer a continental buffet breakfast or a hot meal at the restaurant each morning. You have to purchase your own beverages if you go to the restaurant.

The room also has a fridge and microwave. Next door is IHOP and they offer free kids meals with each adult entree from 4pm-? (whenever they close I think).

We like the kids suite at Portofino Inn & Suites: king, bunk beds and a sleeper sofa. Kids had their own room with a sliding door to shut them in. :thumbsup2

Ill second.. or third.. the vote for the park vue inn. Its super close, and the money we saved on food?? shooooooooot. We have five kids, from 2yo twins to an 18yo.. so food was a big, big deal for us. we also had friends staying with us. there were ten of us all together and we stayed in connecting rooms. we had four queen beds, three cribs, two bathrooms... and a pregnant mama. Worked out great! And the walk just cant be beat. Plus the ice cream deal was a nice little bonus. And the free wine. ;):lmao: Oooohh. and free apples and cookies and water bottles. With three toddlers.. the free snacks were great! And so was the wine. LOL!

Thanks everyone! I will look into Park Vu!!

Right...I booked our trip on expedia too some of those reviews yikes!! We ended up booking anaheim discovery inn & suites, hope it turns out ok anyone been there? Unfortunately I booked my trip before finding this wonderful board lol

Carousel has a couple of suites that will sleep 6. The Resort Suite has 3 queens with 2 baths, and the View Suite has 2 queens, 1 king, and a sofa sleeper but only 1 bath.

Desert Inn and Suites can sleep up to 10 and is usually among the cheapest. It is older and worn, but is clean.

We prefer Residence Inn Maingate. It is a little further, but with a full kitchen, and a hot breakfast every morning, you can save a few bucks.

Anaheim Plaza has "family suites" which are actually 2 adjoining rooms. They too are older, but are clean.

I second the Anaheim Plaza. It is older; but nice property, big pool area, clean, friendly staff and easy walk. It is usually signficantly less $$ than the hotels directly across the street since it is about a block down. Great view of the fireworks too!

Travel sites are so hard when it comes to reviews because people have such different expectations.

Park Vue is BOOKED!!
Gonna check a few others!!!

I agree, it depends on your expectations. We've always found Desert Inn to be adequate and clean, but other hate it. For price, I'd look at Desert Inn and Del Sol (haven't stayed there yet, but they have the same owner, so I'm assuming they're similar). Del Sol has been running some great rates on their Kid's Suite.
