You can still take a bus to a park if you wanted get off at that park and hop right onto the other bus to go to WL, if you didn't want to pay for a taxi is all I'm saying. Have a good trip.

You don't need a taxi to get from All Star resorts to Wilderness Lodge. Another option is to take the bus to MK, then take boat to WL.

Yes, you're checking out/checking in on a non-park day. I would look into Uber. It should be about $10 or less and there's no tipping with Uber so that would be the final price.

I'm doing a split stay myself and I plan on using Uber to move between resorts and taking my luggage with me (rather than rely on Disney).

I'm curious though - where are you staying your first night?

I *think* they are flying in on a red-eye??

If you are flexible in your plans, you may wish to consider a moderate and add a day of tickets if you want to maximize your WDW experience in the parks. If the resorts are more important to you, then the deluxe is a good plan as long as you do as planned and enjoy the resort. I personally prefer not to switch resorts but I know many enjoy the experience of multiple resorts.
